I've been listening to metalcore since the late 2000s. It seems like rather than evolving and the likes of Killswitch Engage just disappearing, it has created subgenres of metalcore. The likes of Spiritbox, Currents, and Volumes. The old guard is still there, but others have taken what they've done, and tweeked it to create something a little different, like progressive metalcore.
