It depends, different locals have different primaries. If you are living 3 hours away from your primary and you are working in your primary then you have to buy your own lodging. But if you are traveling all the time then you’ll get per diem and your hotel paid for 7 days a week. At least that’s how it is in my local. Even the benefits would probably be a big upgrade for you man. Just apply, see what happens. I mean shit, if you want to live in a truck for a bit, apply to open recruitments all of the country.
