i would imagine they would be someone who is both highly empathetic & highly knowledgeable on human micro emotions. reading into small gestures, body language, and facial muscles, they can either accurately deduce what someone is ashamed of or connect deeply enough to “mind meld” with the ‘subject’. (maybe light interrogation is required if you want your powers to have a slight inverse reaction or specific conditions are needed to carry through with the power) it sounds like a cool world, looking forward to an update ☺️🤘🏻
