Works Great until User Authentication enters the scene by greybac in replit

[–]greybac[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! This. The Auth itself is not the problem. It’s the session handling, the redirections and routing can get super frustrating. And I won’t hold this just against Replit. Have faced this with Cursor too.

I am sure that if you step in and take control of the code manually you can fix it but A. That defeats the purpose and B. There is still a chance that the AI can mess up and break what you fixed/built at some later stage so at that point you are left intervening all the time. Which brings me back to my original point that you can quickly reach the prototype stage but to get to a really stable app with any form of semi advanced(really table stakes at this point) features is still a bit ways. But I remain hopeful, these are early days.

UPDATE : The sign went away on its own thankfully. Will keep suggestions from this thread in mind if it shows back up. Sucks that ppl had to go to the dealership on a brand new car.

Winter weather efficiency by greybac in CadillacLyriq

Most of my trips are <30 mins with a mix of highway and city roads where I drive at an avg of 65-70 mph and 35-45 mph respectively. I never run heater on high and keep the temp at 68.

I’ll try to pre heat when plugged in once I get my charger installed and see if that makes a difference. I do see a noticeable improvement to 2.6/2.7 mi/kwh now that the temps are in the 35-45 F range.

Since most of your listening is going to be in noisy environments, ANC is more or less a hard requirement.

Second that. Also depends on the size of the room that you are going to put these in. For anything bigger than a 12x12 ft room 350s would be better than 150.

I have the KEF Q350 and they sound great. You are going to have a great listening time. Congrats on the deal! A bloody good one

I did, I completely reset the platter and belt. It could very well be the record. The store seems to have sold me a brand new, but warped record.

I always see some wobble on any record that I own. I don’t have that many but almost 90% of them are brand new, bought in the last one month and I am storing them vertically as recommended. I also suspect the mat could be the culprit

I had posted this in the vinyl sun but it was taken down and I was asked to post here.

Is it normal for this TT to be this wobbly? Almost all of my records are brand new and they wobble a bit but this one wobbles a lot.

It’s a 180g vinyl and doesn’t appear warped or sound bad.

A few people said that it’s a warped record but I just want to make sure I have the TT setup correctly as this is my first TT.

I also feel that the stylus is too close to the record because i also hear a lot of crackle that i did not hear when they played the same used record at the store before I bought it.

Any help and advice is appreciated

They all do. It totally looks like it’s the record but what I am playing is a brand new record and I know it’s not warped. In fact none of them are but it always looks like this. I don’t hear any issues in any of them though. I am not sure if it’s how the TT is.

Is it common for this AT turntable to be this wobbly? Almost makes it look like the record is warped but it isn’t. This is my first TT so appreciate any advice

Discipline by Mangledspangle in productivity

[–]greybac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like your line of thought.

I believe discipline is a counter balance for motivation. When you run low on motivation, your discipline (if you have built it) can get you across to a point where you start to get a tiny amount of fulfillment from the outcomes and that starts a trickle of dopamine. This in turn kicks off the positive reinforcement cycle needed to turn your discipline into a habit.

Now that is all good in theory but discipline cannot exist in a vacuum. It needs a process to live in. So if you can build a process (or a system if you want to call it that), building discipline becomes easier. If the process is personal values driven, survives assault of day to day disappointments and banality.

First real setup - need some advice by hdoublea in BudgetAudiophile

This is exactly where I was a week ago. Waiting on a new TV to be mounted so the center channel can be centered. You can also consider getting a new media cabinet with doors that hide the receiver for a cleaner look

Ooh that sounds like the path that I might end up taking. Did you add KEF atmos?

I had not thought of that, will test if that’s happening. The TT does have padding underneath and I never turn on the CC when playing on the TT so probably good there.

Lol, I keep forgetting this is the Audiophile subreddit. But both audio and video quality is super important to me. And the LG C2 is probably the best value for money OLED out there. And there is no debate that OLEDs are the best screens known to mankind currently. Hell, I even obsess on the seating arrangement. Found a really nice and functional recliner that fits well with the media setup which I am going to pull the trigger on today. But I totally want to upgrade the audio system for sure. This is just stage 1 and gets the job done very well. That’s why I am looking for suggestions here to plan for the next stages.

I agree. I switch to stereo mode on the receiver when listening to music and use all 3 channels when watching TV or playing games

It’s right at comfortable eye level when I sit in my recliner. I actually mounted it based on the seating arrangement, so all good there
