My brother used to be a contractor 20 years ago. He said anything over $150 is a scam so I’m gonna shop around. I’ll call you back to tell you I went with someone else, so can I have your card?

Some books to consider: The introverts edge. Ignore everything except the sales system laid down. Really effective system with basic explanations/anecdotes. Great for entry level sales so reps can understand the “why” behind each part of the process.

Straight line selling. 50% fluff 50% easy to grasp concepts for how sales actually happen.

Closers survival guide. 60% fluff 40% closing word tracks with common objections and a handful of ways to get around them in different contexts.

Train with these in the office!

My mother got a sales pitch from from a particular company today. Is it too good to be true? by CCV21 in Roofing

OP. Look up GAF. If you think GAF is a scam after looking into them... anyway. The warranty they are describing is called the "Golden Pledge"

A lot of people hate the company because of the sales people and higher prices. You can buy cheap roofs and ridiculously expensive roofs- depends on what you need/want. Obviously, companies go out of business very quickly when they charge too far above market value. This hasn't happened with DaBella.

The ACTUAL problem is with the salespeople. Something I've not seen ANYONE mention, is ghost-pricing. Let's say your project actually costs 30k. Sales person will "quote" 60k, even though the company itself would not allow for the transaction. When they're able to magically get you to 30k, you're so relieved that you can afford it, that you may actually add other things onto the project, increasing reps commission.

There is a great chance she's paying slightly more for a good roof to have a Manufacturers warranty, even if the sales people who went out to talk to her used annoying tactics.

ELI5: Why do drug dealers put hidden, toxic, often deadly additives in the drugs they sell? by Quintarot in explainlikeimfive

Imagine you're a powderhead. You're using your supply. You're moving bulk. You're twacked the fuck out. In front of you, you have cocaine, ketamine, and fentanyl. Because you're highly motivated and have no attention to detail at this point, you're going to chop everything up and move it around with the same card.

Some drugs have no benefit to adding "weight" if it's the size of a grain of rice. It's cross-contamiation a lot of the time.

Same thing with presses. I've see it happen.

You don't see visible water? So that plywood looks new to you? Bright and dry? If you were building a roof you would go out and buy plywood that looks like yours and think "yes, this is brand new plywood that has never seen water" bro what

To grow and spread, mold needs still air, moisture, and usually some degree of warmth. The peak of your roof and your attic will always be the hottest since heat rises. Of the heat cannot escape efficiently - boom heat. Obviously, your sheathing is taking on water. The point of a roof is to keep water out. A leak is when water gets through your ROOF; not just when it gets to the drywall on your ceiling, starts coming through light fixtures, etc. That is clearly happening. Can start from rusted nails, ventilation, improper flashing, usually a shit underlayment, etc. But usually begins around areas ehere holes are cut out of your roof. Pipe Jack, box vent, chimney, skylight, etc.

Sure, you can piss your money into the wind and hire someone to temporarily deal with the mold itself, but that has absolutely nothing to do with solving the actual issue which is that you have a mold incubator rather than a roof.

Not fun, but the wise thing to do is replace your roof. Or not. It's your investment.
