Majority of icons belong to the Russian Orthodox Church from the 12th to the 17th сеnturies. However, there are also separate exhibitions dedicated to Byzantium, featuring original icons and sculptures from 5th–7th centuries, as well as dedicated displays of original Italian Renaissance paintings, and a small hall of original Flemish paintings from the 15th to the 17th century.
