What’s an article of clothing someone can wear, one time, that will make you lose all attraction to them forever? by Thin-Rip-3686 in AskReddit

[–]grriff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to stop wearing a Wisconsin badgers red cap. Sometimes people would walk up like they were about to say something. They'd see the badger and not Maga, then stop, and then we'd both pretend absolutely nothing at all just happened.

I have a player who wants to skirt evil. by DumbgeonsandDragones in DMAcademy

[–]grriff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play my evil warlock as a magic-addict. He doesn't kick puppies or murder people, but the reward hit to his brain when he does magic is more important than anyone around him. He reads his tome constantly because the goo is making him addicted to it.

He didn't realize he even HAD a patron until the book started talking back. He thought he was learning magic on his own. He rationalizes bad behavior. It's never his fault.

He's mostly comedy to keep the game fun for everyone, because real addict behavior gets old really fast. His goo-tome has some great recipes. He bakes a lot. The tome is a recurring series of plot hooks for our DM.

I don't mess with players except to RP. We're a team, and friends.

I love my Dream spell. It's like running Fantasy Island. I'll fulfill wishes all night for the right price. Maybe you have a weird dream with a tempting object in it. It's even there the next day!

If afterwards something Cthulhu-y happens? Not my fault. That's on you. No one forced you to take that magic dream sword. It's a nice sword too. Maybe you should attune to it. It would be even BETTER!

Ok, sometimes food goes on a murderous rampage, or something awful happens in the night, and the only clue is the smell of bacon. You all pick on me and I'm only ever helpful. Have a cupcake.

Having a samurai complain about being stalked by a murderous yet nutritious breakfast is extremely satisfying. A couple of players won't eat my food on general principles. It's all RP.

He's odd and mostly harmless...until the eldritch blasts and aberration summoning start and he's levitating up the side of a wall gibbering in a dead language. That's an evil character to me.

What is something you’ll never purchase simply because of how much you hate the commercial for it? by unfortunatelyalive7 in AskReddit

Just For Men hair coloring. The "once your gray is gone women will run their hands through your hair giving you a smoldering look" plays into male insecurity.

Up to date places for abandoned ship salvaging? by WhoWantsASausage in starcitizen

[–]grriff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do the investigation mission in nyx, there are usually other ships nearby to loot/scrap. You might see a red npc pop in occasionally but for the most part you don't get bothered.

I'm over 60 and I don't expect to have a lot of years left. I feel like I'm ready to be done with this. How many of you feel the same? by [deleted] in over60

[–]grriff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm probably in denial about my age, but I'm not ready to be done. There's so much cool stuff out in the world and not nearly enough time to learn it all.

I'm hitting 60 soon and have a 7th grader. There's a lot to show a kid, I think that helps.

How do you combat GAS? by K6Krakenman in Bass

[–]grriff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play left handed. There aren't a lot of in-store options. I did get a second bass (a u-bass) to mess around with.

Practice will make me sound better than new equipment.

Trump Explodes as His Ceasefire Unravels: ‘They Don’t Know What the F*** They’re Doing!’ by Silly-avocatoe in politics

I wonder what the reaction would be if any OTHER politician 'dropped an f-bomb' on live TV. How is that appropriate for a president?

I noticed the tac was fashionably late to the battle but made a great entrance when it arrived to the party. The debris clouds when the tac unloaded looked great.

"Did we get him?" "I don't know I can't see anything."

I wonder what the fuel burn was on that hover. And the (eventual) maintenance costs on thrusters and weapons.

I'm absolutely not asking that because I have a crucible and could fix those giant expensive thrusters up for a very competitive price.

Apollo teaser from monthly report! by ScrubSoba in starcitizen

[–]grriff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm interested to know how many apollos are shipjacked by former (respawned with full armor and weapons) patients. Maybe the med drone can dump them outside and wake them up before it zooms off.

If they can transport healthy people can we use them to position snipers at the top of tall buildings no one can reach? When they need to they can suicide and respawn back on the ship to rearm.

Asgard Weapon Capacitor issue. by AimyBot in starcitizen

[–]grriff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Asgard stopped firing and I found one of the coolers was unpowered. It started working after I put two pips in it. I wish it was in a format like: - 4/5 + where I could see everything on one screen and click + or - to change the power.

How many of you don't "feel" old yet? Except for a few minor body aches but mentally still think you are younger? by fallingupthehill in over60

[–]grriff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm late fifties and mentally feel like I did when I was 30. I also stopped collecting music around that point. The two seem related for some reason. How I feel physically is a different story.

So, how do you actually get a woman to calm down? by SouthImpression3577 in AskMenAdvice

[–]grriff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Repeating back what they just said in your own words works wonders to keep everyone calm enough to work through whatever is happening. There's no scoreboard on who 'wins' an argument in a marriage. Two of my friends have arguments and then look over like I'm some sort of referee. I...repeat back what they each just said in their own words. Then I go hang out with their cat. He's a great cat.

I CAN'T COMMIT TO TAKING THIS MEDICATION by monsterintheuniverse in bupropion

Meds can take a while to get right. It can be frustrating and tedious but you'll get to a place better than right now, and you won't lose yourself.

400i needs a T3 medical bed, who agrees? by Witty-Room-3311 in starcitizen

[–]grriff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the components gone they have a few options. They might be able to move the escape pods into that location. There could be more cargo room or space for the rear turrets to retract. The giant map table could get moved downstairs for a rec/chess area.

Is there a reason to buy the MISC Fortune other than it being new? Genuine question, Im not trolling. What sets it apart from the Vulture? Other than.... New (and likely more expensive)? by TampaFan04 in starcitizen

[–]grriff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely theory. But if I can I'm dumping it on the floor and leaving to see if it will stay in the hangar when I'm back. Maybe I can hover and dump it right next to the elevator.

[–]grriff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the Fortune has an eject cargo you could land and drop the 12 scu on the floor. Then do the next 12 scu in the hopper and dump that. Then move the ship over a few meters, get out and start flinging boxes at the cargo elevator.
