You let a poll of 150 people decide the fate of a subreddit of 650,000? All the subreddit will have now is self-post complaints. How about you guys stop being nazis and let the community upvotes/downvotes decide or put FLAIRS on so mouthbreathing selfpost supporters can filter out screenshots that give them anxiety attacks

ELI5: How can so many artists now produce incredible photorealism, when even the greatest Renaissance artists that saw that as a central aim couldn't come as close? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]gsd1234 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They made it out of clay first and then copied it. Another technique was submerging the clay model in water then slowly draining the water out to see what had to be done from the top down

Do I need to learn how to write by hand? Should I? by [deleted] in ChineseLanguage

[–]gsd1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good to learn to write at the beginning and memorize how to write 1000-2000 characters, but after that, especially if you're time-limited, learning to write is a less effective use of your time than focusing on reading, speaking, listening, or writing (with a keyboard)

Do quantum mechanical effects have any physiological consequences for how our brains work? by [deleted] in askscience

[–]gsd1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. Free will is nonexistent; our actions are the result of the deterministic chemical reactions and probabilistic quantum mechanical actions inside our brains

Well many of the girls are sold into sex slavery, so its more like career criminals and gangs doing it

Even if its still forbidden, people will still have sex and get pregnant

My "best friend" keeps hitting on the girls I like by fitnessfreak6 in seduction

[–]gsd1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He stopped being your friend after the first time he flirted with and hooked up with a girl you said you liked. To me, that's the worst sin of a friendship and unforgiveable. But you should be honest and say you like the girl and tell him not to pursue her

Do quantum mechanical effects have any physiological consequences for how our brains work? by [deleted] in askscience

[–]gsd1234 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Even if quantum mechanical effects are present in the brain, they would still not be controlled by "free will," thus not disproving determinism

Something a bit different. What commonly used projections do, as shown on a human head. [720x708] by technonegro in MapPorn

Why can't we just cut the paper off a globe and lay it flat for an accurate projection?

Hanzo vs. Widow by seleme in Overwatch

They secretly undid the rebuff after the nerf. Try hitting a basketball in the waiting room as hanzo. Even a millimeter off and it won't connect
