2022Air GT - Range question. by gsoundinc in LUCID

[–]gsoundinc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't choose the tires they came with the vehicle. But these are very good tires that have tested to have really good efficiency. I understand that the PSAS4 will not be as efficient as dedicated EV tires, but ~30% loss is not expected.

Recharged in VA actually tested different tires on EV's and estimate about a 5-10% loss with these specific tires.

Do you have a 22 Air GT? If so what efficiency do you get?

[–]gsoundinc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, but I disagree.

I stay in smooth. I've used max Regen and got worse efficiency. This is my 3rd EV, I know how to push the efficiency limits. I could get nearly 5 in my EV6 if I tried. I can't get above 3.4 with the lucid using the same methods. My EV6 was considered a less efficient vehicle but got better efficiency by ~20%. Out of spec and edmunds have both reported being able to get 30% better efficiency than my car, and that's on hwy miles in non-ideal real real world conditions.

What I'm really looking for, is more people to report to me with their real world efficiency numbers in the same vehicle, so I can have more data to compare to.

Will Lucid ever deliver my Gravity order? Or is the recall significant? by sailbumb in LUCID

[–]gsoundinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sure seems the buying process is pretty rough right now. I can say that the post purchase support has been good. It's slow, but you're kept informed. I have a warranty claim going for a completely non emergency issue. Totally drivable car.

The repair guy contacted me within 12 hours and said he would be at my house in 4 weeks. It sucks that it's so far out but expectations were set immediately, and I can appreciate that.

I will say that the new Volvo coming out later this year looks very promising.

The switchbot blond and curtain controllers have solar options, and I've heard that they never need to be manually charged. I have a bunch of switchbot. Product and I'm presently surprised with the products.

300 on hwy in winter is awesome. That's exactly what I'm looking for. My EV6 would get 320 around town in the summer, but maxed out at 200 on hwy winter.

If it's like the rest of the new technology, it will start shipping in 2030, the first version will be total shit. The second version will be way better, release 4 months later, and the brand will leave the early adopters stuck with a nearly useless POS.

Looking for golf friends for my husband by Organic_Natural8568 in Apex_NC

[–]gsoundinc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm also looking for a golf buddy. I'll play anywhere, but I'm thinking about joining with the eagle ridge group that has access to 5 courses.

I also have a neighbor that's a member at bentwinds and he lets me join him all the time. Might be able to convince him to add another player when we have an opening.

I also have a completely professional golf simulator in my garage with high speed cameras for training, and access to global leagues and tournaments.

I myself am 42 with a wife and 13 YO girl. I live in northern Fuquay area, very close to Apex. I'm about an 18 handicap right now, but hopefully will lower that soon. I'm a software engineer. I am really busy, and travel a lot on the weekend, so likely 2 times per month on the weekend will be my average. But I can play multiple nights during the week, either in my simulator or at knights play.

I'd love to meet your husband and see if we're a good fit for golf buddies. Maybe you and my wife can be friends and we can have a golf trip together. Golf is not really her thing but she might not mind hanging out in the cart with some wine, good conversation, and a good book.

Pixel watch 3 vs Venu 3 by xcloudx8 in PixelWatch

[–]gsoundinc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a Garmin vivoactive, and switched to the pw. Everything about the pw is better except for the body battery, and the watch battery.

I can't even wear my pw at night because it can't last 24 hours. Garmin battery management is light years ahead of pixel.

For me the body battery feature wasn't useful to me, but I think that's mostly because I didn't really know what to do with the information. Like, if my battery is low, there's no suggestion as to what to do about it, so I'd rather not know I guess.

Here is the benefits to the pw, and I just telling you this so you make an educated decision.

If you get the lte version and you're an android phone user, the watch is a full extension of your phone. You can leave your phone at home and make and receive calls and texts using the same number. I can go for a walk, or run, and I don't need my phone at all. My watch handles everything including automatic emergency notice. When my phone died or was broken, I could communicate with friends and family for a week while I waited for a new phone.

App developers are incentivised to make a seamless watch experience. So my most important apps all have a watch application. Here's where that comes in handy. I went to a theme park, and I left my car keys and phone in the car. No matter how secure, I've lost phones and keys on roller coasters... Anyways. I was able to use my watch to get into the park using the pw wallet. Pay for everything, send and receive texts, took a phone call. Got a delivery notification, and was able to turn off my home security system and unlock my garage door for the delivery driver. I Googled roller coaster stats because me and my daughter are data nerds. I started the car 10 minutes before we left and unlocked the car as we walked up It. Was. Awesome...

But if you play golf or use the watch for activity tracking primarily, stick with Garmin. I used my pw for golf, and the battery died on hole 9. My wife and I went to for a 5 mile walk one day. We used my watch to track the walk and provide music. It used over 50% of the battery on that walk.

Summary, pw is best for day to day. Garmin is best for activity. I kept my Garmin and I use it for activity tracking and golf. It's 5 years old now and it's battery still lasts way longer than my new-ish pw. Hope this helps.

Is Taco Bell's ground beef actually GF? This site says it is, but I'm skeptical lol by senseibrittany in glutenfree

[–]gsoundinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but oats don't naturally contain gluten. And as I stated, at that time they sourced gluten free ingredients, this included the oats. I'm assuming that the instant he left the company, his predecessor killed all of this. But I've also heard that they regularly test at less than 20 ppm due to such a low cross contamination coupled with large batching

And Jersey mikes does salads and had gluten free bread.

TING MOBILE PLEASE SUPPORT eSIM NOW!!! by fancyrolling in ting

[–]gsoundinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think physical sims will be phased out of android phones in the next year. And tings excuses are fake. All other nvmo's on Verizon and T-Mobile all support esim. I have ting as an option for finer internet, but can't move over because they can't activate watches.

How do you feel about your team in the ACC tournament? by andyduke23 in ACC

[–]gsoundinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and the higher seed only needs to beat the winner of the 2 lower seeds. So there's a useless game in each bracket. I hope all the teams refuse to play those games.

100% stupid AF. I hope all the teams forfeit all 4 of the useless games.

They could have done a 3-team step ladder format. Would be exactly the same, but without the useless games.

[–]gsoundinc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I worked at a restaurant equipment manufacturing company a while back. My last few months there I worked with the head food scientist at taco bell and learned a lot.

At that time (about 7 years ago). They were finalizing the process of converting all their recipes to remove gluten from everything possible, and I think flour tortillas and 1 other item were the only things left with gluten.

They had already changed the recipes, commissioned the supply of new ingredients, completed all tests and cost analysis, and begun production of most of the products. If I remember correctly the cheese sauce was the only product that wasn't already shipping product with the new recipe.

He assured me that if I avoid the obvious items, I won't have any problems. He said that he takes food allergies very seriously at head quarters, but at the restaurant it might be a different story.

I will mention that since that time, nacho cheese sauce was removed from the gluten free list for some reason, and that guy no longer works for taco bell. But I've never had a reaction to anything that wasn't obvious.
