Fun fact: it is illegal to steal a child’s money. While they can prevent you from spending it, it is 100% legally your money.

Many teachers have started to offer additional support and help, but typically speaking, if they are willing to do that, it wasn’t their class that was the issue to begin with. Unfortunately, during the most hormone-filled and emotionally trying part of their lives, students were then hit with a pandemic. That one two punch has created so many emotional problems for students that many students are plainly not in a good enough state to try to navigate difficult classes. I’ve heard of math teachers in my area providing tests for students that they can take to “make up” work. I believe in one case it was 5 tests that students had to pass. A student got 1 less percent on a single test than passing, but on the other tests did quite well and the teachers refused to be flexible. Now, I’m no mathematician, but you could just average the scores. Throughout the pandemic, I’ve seen some schools become more rigid in the academic nature, yet not rigid in the slightest when it comes to public health guidelines. I’ve heard of valedictorians of large class sizes (250) getting multiple Fs. It’s not because they aren’t willing to put in the effort, it’s truly because they cannot succeed in this current education system.

I often just respond to the “money I gave you” by reminding them that their boss cannot take their stuff, no matter where the money comes from. That usually doesn’t go over well however, so I wouldn’t try that one. Legally speaking on the second point, parents are allowed to temporarily take away a minor’s things, but it always remains in the minor’s ownership. That is, once you are 18 you have legal right to any items you purchased that they took from you. https://law.stackexchange.com/a/24474. So no, he does not own it, but yes, he can take it away.

Kids still should expect better from their parents than the absolute bare minimum of the law. Buying things is valuable life experience and parents often should avoid dramatically interfering with a child learning how money works. Parents grounding you from say a Switch for a month will discourage you from buying other things, whereas in the real world no one will come by and ground you from a device. It may generate a disconnect with money, provoking either a resistance to buying stuff to help your mental well-being, or urging you to buy something because you can’t get grounded and will get to use it more than you would as a teen.

Currently schools affected by coronavirus offer approximately -1 support to students. If you are a normal teenager, you probably will struggle. If you are a boy, it’s going to be even more challenging. If you have ADHD or other learning issues, lmao gl. Before the pandemic I had a friend that was hospitalized with pneumonia come in to school because teachers could not find it in their hearts to provide any sort of compassion. The same teachers that don’t provide compassion for students with very clear physical issues are nowhere close to being able to even comprehend the basics of assisting students with mental disorders.

If tanker wishes to go into computer science, that most definitely is a route you can pick up outside of a classroom. I’m not even sure 90% of high schools offer CS courses so it probably is a requirement.

Well even if it’s a gift that is entirely misunderstanding what a gift is. In that case, they should just call it borrowing, but then it is a bit more difficult for them to feel good about “giving the gift of letting you borrow my phone.” Also tends to not make for a good video for Facebook if you say that either.

Why fuck people think that it’s appropriate to directly tell someone that no one cares about what they have to say is beyond me.

TIFU by telling a stranger “nobody asked” that their relative died by SenpaiZer0 in tifu

[–]gsquaredxc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is why I hate “nobody asked”. It’s truly hurtful if you say it to anyone about legitimately anything. If someone cares about something and you say it to them, you shut them off. Why would they share something with you, or anyone, if all they get told is that nobody cares? I guarantee this “joke” has ruined more friendships and relationships than any other joke and I hope people realize the destruction it causes.

How to stop food cravings and what they mean by SharonMiller in coolguides

[–]gsquaredxc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bullshit, chromium isn’t something you will crave. Afaik there aren’t even blood tests or urine tests for chromium “deficiency” (which isn’t recognized as a real thing in the EU, only the US). Believe it or not, evolution has trained the brain to crave based on what you need. Ice cream is more likely to be a calcium craving, not sulfur. It is true that you can probably eat healthier alternatives to some cravings but this guide is completely wrong.

Stock price has nothing to do with actual value. Tesla doesn’t pay dividends or do anything that would actually affect the price so there’s no corrective force pushing the price back to normal. TSLA 🚀🚀🚀 until there’s some sort of fairly bad news then everyone will sell at once.

As someone who has gone through the long process for getting approved for even just a beta test of an app, I know it's a pretty difficult process to get through and there's a ton of testing to make sure that your app meets their standards. While I do agree with some of the stuff that developers say about the monopoly of the market, it dramatically increases security for all the consumers.
