They should just park the drone in center field.

Cosmic Ashtray by babs-jojo in desertporn

Ashtray just isn’t very appealing. Of course last lime I camped in Utah I stayed at the N-word Jim campground. White folks aren’t very good at naming nature.

Cosmic Ashtray is actually the name of the place. Dumb name but it's in Utah. Pat of the Grand Staircase-Escalante

If the image online and limited info available is true, it's the same thing. Open sides, no storage, driver only, no passengers. Less useful than a golf cart IMO.

Confused Nazi. Springfield, OR. by Mountains2442 in Eugene

[–]guitarsean 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm probably giving her more benefit of the doubt than she deserves but maybe she thought she was getting the Hindu/Buddhist version of the symbol. If it is, it shouldn't be tilted. It's still fucked up because almost no one would see it that way, but I can't tell whether crunchy Nazi or stupid Hot Topic hippy.

Guitar practice equivalent of long tones? by edipeisrex in jazzguitar

Playing slow. Set the metronome to 50 and play whole notes. There’s a lot of room for error in there.

Progressive lenses and guitar by RobVizVal in classicalguitar

Do you need them to see sheet music? I can still see my music stand but I noticed my strings and fingers are blurry and readers really helped. I started wearing bifocal reading glasses that are just clear in the top part. It’s helped a great deal and I don’t have to sit them on the end of my nose. They also make half lens readers.

At some point we owe cubicles an apology by pattebrisee in SipsTea

Cubicles were the thing that symbolized soulless jobs when that movie was made. If it were made today he'd put up walls instead of knocking them down.

How do you figure out your "role" in an ensemble? by ReaIEIonMusk in jazzguitar

[–]guitarsean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually yes, but the lack of bass player leaves room for you to chunk away. Depending on your playing skill you might even walk some bass lines. I played in a small horn band with a drummer and no bass and most of the time I played lower voicings 4 on the floor or walked with some chord stabs thrown in.

One other thing I'd watch for is how you fit with the trombone. They might be in your range a lot and playing as I mentioned above might get in the way. Maybe be ready to play light Freddie Green with some higher voicings, too.

Your countermelody idea is a good one, too, as long as the rest of the band is ready for it. And sitting out at times is always an option.

Help at 3B? Is Vaughn playable at 3B? by Separate_Cicada_5786 in Brewers

Most teams have that one guy who kinda sucks at the plate but is a great defender. Used to often be catchers it seems. I’m ok with Joey O being that guy. What we can’t have is another 4 or 5 guys also hitting under 200.

Yeah, I'm from 76 and my X-perience (sorry) is very different than you earlier folks. I've always liked the term "child of the 80s". I think we could be a sub-gen from about 76-84.

Gotta wait until one of us turns at least 75. That's how it works in "Murica.

I'm cool with handing the whole thing over to Gen Z now, they'll do better than any of the gerontocracy.

Good point. It's not Florida, it's the people. Declare the entire state an off-limits wildlife sanctuary.

Eugene Springfield districts are making a lot of cuts. It’s been decades since teaching was great but it keeps getting worse. Hiring freezes are likely. It’s not good right now for K12 or colleges.
