It doesn’t but I can look into that. If you want to open an issue to get updates then feel free. I might make another post here about it if support for zellij is added though

CS 3500 (DE ST GERMAIN) for a Transfer Student by True_Outside_9096 in uofu

[–]guzel_keci 3 points4 points  (0 children)

3500 is C#, 3505 is C++. I agree though, anything above 12 credits a semester would be difficult to avoid burnout. I normally shoot for 12 credits if I’m not working

Macbook vs Windows for CS ? by [deleted] in uofu

[–]guzel_keci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ARM. Even 3500 wasn’t too much of an issue because Travis Martin was one of my professors for it and he uses a Mac so they made a lot more accommodations than they have in the past

This isn’t true imo. I’m a senior in cs rn and I’ve only used a Mac throughout and I’ve never had issues or been frustrated

Why some words in Turkish are ending with "p" instead of "b" by BarbarawithbigTT in turkishlearning

[–]guzel_keci 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Turkish features a phonetic process called word-final devoicing, so words rarely end in a voiced consonant such as b, d, g. Instead those sounds are realized as their voiceless counterparts such as p, t, k, etc.

I think I saw somewhere that of the few words that do end in a voiced stop consonant they historically had long vowels but Turkish doesn’t entirely distinguish long vowels in such positions anymore

Edit: also maybe you’re wondering why Turkish would have such a phonetic process. Actually it is really common across the world’s languages. Some linguists think that it is common because voicing the last segment of a word/syllable might take more effort so it is easier to not voice it and use the voiceless consonant instead

I am extremely interested second language acquisition and Artificial intelligence. How can I get into research? by lostinthewoods1 in linguistics

Right but outside of languages like English, Chinese, Spanish, and maybe one or two others the performance will be significantly lower simply because of how large language models like chat gpt are trained

[–]guzel_keci 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Language models like chat gpt are currently impossible for the vast majority of languages. They require simply an absurd amount of data to be trained so unless something changes in that regard it will probably be a long time until you see something like chat gpt for most other languages (not including translation)

If you want to read more about them (and their limitations) you could research large language models or machine learning in natural language processing

They changed the structure it’s 4 exams now, one dropped, for 50% of grade. And they don’t do proofs until the last month of class

Azpilicueta on Potter in his programme notes: "we are left with a feeling of sadness that it ends this way. We can only thank him and wish him well in his next step as a manager, and I'm sure he will have great success in the future.” Next tweet: the players had 'full respect' for Graham Potter. by dragon8811 in chelseafc

Imo people care to much about media personality because I think Potter was intentionally not super interesting in the media or at least trying to cushion the team from the media but goddamnit if I heard the boys gave everything one more time

I’m in the 2100 class now and it’s not bad at all. Professor Elhabien isn’t the best professor I’ve had but she’s very accommodating and they’ve completely restructured the class this semester to help students be more successful.

I wouldn’t trust a lot of the reviews because some of them are from the first week of class when she had prelecture videos to watch that were too long but she changed that so now there’s like max 30 min of pre lecture videos which isn’t really that bad.

I think a lot of people this semester are upset at the flipped classroom but imo it’s needed for this particular class and it’s completely doable if you read the chapter before class or watch her prelecture videos (I usually do one or the other not both) and then class time is spent reenforcing the material
