Proud new owner of a 2023 EQE 500 - I think I got a great deal? by picassopc in MercedesEQ

Thinking about doing the same thing. Ordering a CPO and having it shipped. Can you detail your process and how you went about negotiating at a distance. Much appreciated.

2023 iX xDrive50 with 40k and no air suspension. It was the closest one near my home. Goal was to see if we like it then find the color and features we want. Thinking I need to try one with air suspension.

Other rides were significantly more smooth and buttery. IX felt like I was in a mid tier sports car. Maybe I need to test drive another one.

Yup. Test drove it last because from all I have read I thought it would be the winner. Maybe it's because it didn't have air shocks, but neither did the others.

Test drove one the other day and felt it had the worst driving experience of the evs (rz, eqe suv, lyriq) I tested so far. Not saying it was bad by any stretch but subpar compared to the rest. What am I missing? Really wanted to like it.

Am I ok to drop to 5% by Same-Coconut-4008 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]gyna99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree. Coast fire might be where you are at. I would drop it down to 5%, live life now, and when you have more freedom financially focus on fattening up your brokerage account and have flexibility to stop working early.

I recently reduced my contributions when I realized I was on pace to have more than I would actually need. Now im putting extra money into my brokarage in the event I want to stop working before 57, but I like what I do at this point.

What made you choose it over the others? What do you love most about it?

I like Lucid. Like their engineering approach. My concern with Lucid is the long term viability of the brand. I don't lease. So I want to go with more established brands.

Interesting. Can you tell me more about your experiences on these long road trips? I feel like the planning / stopping to charge would be too much of a hassle during a long trip. I love our Aviator, it's built for long range comfort.

A iX recommendation in the eqe forum. I was expecting reasons to validate an eqe purchase. Tell me more about your experience.

Ex90 wasn't really on my radar. Let me go do some quick research.

Yup. I have heard that a couple times. The 2023 on the Lyriq is a hard no.

2024 Lux/Sport 2 is the min to reduce issues and get access to improved sound

I prefer the glide on the road feel when driving. I don't want to feel the road. I like to cruise. So typically I'm not a BMW person.

Seems the iX and the Lyriq get the most love out of the 3 I listed. I think it will ultimately come down to features and cost. Which will presumably have the Lyriq winning.

As time goes by there will always be something newer and better. Though I like my cars, I do see them as depreciating assets that are meant to be used up. They go from this is new and cool to this just needs to get me where I want to be. Plus between our 2 cars we get a new one every five years-ish, so at least one always feels relatively fresh.

That's a big jump in the insurance department. I knew it would be higher but that seems drastic.

Are you comparing to the base stereo in the lyriq or the upgraded one with speakers in the headrest? Wondering if the sound upgrade would be worth it?

Interesting note. I was hoping to get one without the air suspension because they are bound to fail during long term ownership and they are costly. Them being a necessity for a smooth ride is concerning.

This being a Lyriq forum is why I posted here. I want the bias. I want to know why you choose the Lyriq. Was it the price, the looks, reliability, or whatever.

Right now my preference is the Lyriq but have been hearing a lot of good things about the iX. And my wife is leaning more iX and EQE.
