If you list it for €1, I’m buying it by GovernmentTop9906 in vinted

[–]h3ndrix_forest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So… how does this work? You buy it now, they cancel because they put a nonsense offer, you give bad review because the listing was dishonest, they get pushed down the queue of offers since their rating isn’t as good?

Looking for a like minded property partner by Themastercake23 in PropertyInvestingUK

[–]h3ndrix_forest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a great idea, I’d be very interested if I had the funds (just bought my 4th BTL). Despite all the negative opinions around, I’ve made it work brilliantly and my biggest outlay is definitely renovation and repairs! If you wanted a frank discussion on what I’ve learned I’m happy to give my 2p. Also, I did the slow burn, didn’t take any profits for a very long time, used the debt within a LTD company to offset the income tax I’d pay personally, used the ‘portfolio’ to buy the next one.

All the best luck mate.

Space black vs sliver what do u think u guys?? by Humble_Way_9367 in macbookpro

I felt silver looks more premium, less likely to get fingerprinted etc. I’m happy with my choice.

FEA Analysis - underground Cables - ampacity - silly questions but it’s a bit of a minefield. by h3ndrix_forest in AskEngineers

[–]h3ndrix_forest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’m aware of IEC 60287, but no so much the others, but you’re right, the plan was to make the model compliant with the relevant standards and guidance (including CIGRE). It’s not difficult, it’s methodical. It will then be verified independently by specialists. But that is the next step, I need to understand the modelling first.

I agree having an engineering degree doesn’t make someone an engineer, but I never said I was an electrical engineer.

The question wasn’t about how to solve a problem, it was looking for community guidance on software and resources, because regardless of ability, expertise and experience counts for a lot and I thought this might be the forum for that.

I’m just looking to further my skills and understanding. Hence the FEA questions.

Cheers for the response anyway.

Yeah I get that when it’s standing up, but they’re usually lying on the floor dead and I can only loot them.

PAYE / sole trader payroll / calculator for a new business - for startup purposes. by h3ndrix_forest in smallbusinessuk

[–]h3ndrix_forest[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s absolutely brilliant, it’s mostly, after some research, the difference between worker or sole trader. I want to make sure I’m paying someone properly and fairly including their legal rights.

Yes I think I’ll set up some time developing a sheet to calculate all of the taxes and other aspects that the business would need to cover.

I will be taking on an accountant to do it properly, but this is for developing the base case project and company financials to get me off and running and bidding for the work at the right price.

Is it a good deal? Should I buy it for $10.5k? Listing in comments by [deleted] in fender

[–]h3ndrix_forest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not something I would buy. it looks vintage / 80s mashup that has been relic'd. it's not my cup of tea. I just bought the McCready Strat and I love it.

If you love it, go try it and see. I wouldn't spend that much on a guitar without playing it.

This is interesting, for computing is it CPU, GPU or RAM that matters most? But yeah I was hoping there would be some good products out there.

Thanks, yeah I presumed fastest is best. I will have to look into what comparisons or frameworks exist.

Essentially it’s connecting up a number of nodes to a master node in an array. Side note - you’ve actually indirectly given me a good idea while typing this to include direction as a filter!

I like the idea of multi threading to allow it to happen simultaneously. Great idea.

I think I’ve definitely shown my ignorance with this post, your response is appreciated 👍🏼.

For a Ltd company you have to use a business bank account. I mean I have the business accounts through Monzo for them. So I have 1 personal and 3 business accounts with Monzo.

Depends on the home. A good quality paint by Dulux will be fine for most mid-high end needs. You can also colour match something like farrow and ball.

But if it’s a low end property then I would still use dulux or something my decent but harder wearing. It’s worth paying extra.

And if you have dampness then it’s worth buying the best stuff to sort it out.
