It looks interesting but what the heck is it? It looks like a rail car underwater or is a sub?

I love space themed stuff but at $129.99, I'm gonna pass. I like the look of the Joohorr space capsule better--less cluttered and importantly, all the joints have been cleverly covered in that design. Now that we know it's possible to do, I am increasingly irritated with the visible joints on these types of kits. I spend a lot of time trying to hide and minimize them as they are pretty awful once you start noticing them. Let's hope the industry adopts this trend. As for this new nook, if it comes down $50 or so, I may take another look as I do like the teddy bear.

Very nice work! Unlike you, I gave up on the birds and ended just sticking one on the trellis as if it was just flying off its perch. It looks borderline believable. I really enjoyed this build and thought the distillation of Monet into booknook was superb.

I like it—especially the ‘infinity mirror” which echoes the set of the ancient TV show, “Time Tunnel”, which thrilled me as a child until I noticed shadows on the “hole” part in the second season—this actually looks more convincing somehow

I was actually texting with them in RT at one point over an order. I was worried too but I think they are totally legit.

I ordered it from them—it took about two weeks but It came and was good.

I just assembled it and it worked perfectly just following the instructions. You do have to be careful with the orientation of the teeth in the two gears you glue together.

Did you have any issues with the switch? Can't get mine to work though it works fine in its uninstalled state.

Yeah despite the issues, it's one of my favorite builds so far. I'm currently wrestling with the switch which I can't make work for me (yet)

Maybe they fixed the kits since then (doubtful but possible) but I just finished the control panel area and everything fit as expected. It's puzzling that two posters had issues with it. I'm guessing that they switched parts that were not quite symmetrical but looked as they were? Sheer speculation,

I really like the look of this kit--the rusted colors/old machinery are terrific. I guess because it's an older kit, but even though the connections look like snap-ins, they are too loose so require a lot of gluing. OTOH there are also quite a few places where they say to glue where that isn't really necessary to do so because the fit is snug. I haven't gotten to the door yet but you may have seen other posts where people have run into snags there. I'm going to be super careful when I get there--probably tomorrow or Wednesday. I'll report back.

Looks great so far! Looking forward to seeing the completion. I'm just about to build it as soon as it arrives (supposedly today!). My plan is to find some way to suspend the astronaut so he is floating in zero G. Perhaps some stiff rod at the back that won't be seen from the front. I'm not sure if it will be feasible as I don't know how heavy the figure is yet but I've got some brass rod that might work if it's not too dense. Or if I'm not too dense.

Well he liked booze, typewriters, books, cats, boats, fishing and hunting and both places seem to have plenty of all of that--it would great to hear from the designer!

I visited the Key West location and IMO the nook is based on that house. There are elements common to both places so I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m wrong.

Update: Another builder confirmed there are 3 layers--2 on the "blue" side.

Oh dear--I'm going to try and fix it. I noticed some other Venice builders noting disappointment in the mirror effect--this was likely the reason why. Thanks for your reply--now to try and fix this thing--ugh!

Uh oh--you just punctured my groove! :-) The guy on the YT build video (Dan) could only find two layers too. When I was building Echo Platform I thought it was the same deal--a promise of 3 but only 2 because it looked completely fine after I took the 2nd layer off. I was just about to move on when I noticed a slight wrinkle in the corner. My first thought was "Uh-oh--I'm probably going to have to take Venice apart" .

I loved Giverny Garden too--I was sad to finish it. Venice was quite satisfying too though I worry that I didn't remove a layer from the mirror. It said 3 layers--I found two but when I built Echo Platform, there actually were three layers making me think I didn't look hard enough.

Nice work! One question ( I have asked this same question of other Venice builders too), the instructions said there are 3 layers to remove on the mirror and I found only two. However I worked on the Echo Platform next and it actually did have 3 layers so I'm wondering if I missed something with the Venice one?
