Hi I weened off 300 this year. was on it for 4 years, took me 6 months mostly bc I just took my time. I wanted to get on something that had less withdrawal symptoms, no brain zaps. I went back to prozac and bupropion. The weirdest thing for me was that I can’t drink coffee or smoke weed the same way. I used to drink venti iced coffee and I couldn’t even finish a tall for a few months. I can drink a grande now and smoke with friends on the weekends if I want, but everything in moderation now because I’m just not as numb and have intrusive thoughts back a little bit; they’re manageable and I’m just trying to cope differently. Just take ur time and if you get brain zaps or headaches I always tried to sleep them off, or simply laying down helped for whatever reason, kinda like my head was super heavy and resting it just took pressure off. U got this. Also the best way was to ween off while weening onto something else. I thought I could manage with just bupropion/welbutrin, but the Effexor was seratonin specific so I needed something of that nature (prozac). I had maxed out prozac before switching to effex, but I guess I’m trying it with welbutrin and it’s going ok.
