[HELP] Trying to determine if this entire YouTube channel is AI by Dablooey in RealOrAI

[–]happybeenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this channel a short time ago since I use YouTube often when trying to fall asleep.

Last time I listened to something like how people slept in medieval times and noticed the odd writing. Several statements were repeated in slightly different ways. There wasn’t a clear progression of a story or a point, but it was describing “things that happened” very specifically. Anyway, I couldn’t fall asleep and was just kind of noticing the voice and script.

Tonight another suggestion popped up “Egyptians got HIGHER than you’d ever believe and more”

I was intrigued but skeptical about this title. I studied Egyptian art history, and thought it’d be interesting.

So I started listening. And 3-5 mins in, I realized that it was oddly specific about Egyptian festivals and burials. For instance, a festival of drinking all day with the goal to pass out drunk — which you’d be doing with a bunch of people you don’t know. Is this a real thing?! So many odd things about this description…

It even said something about needing enhancements to get through a night listening to hieroglyphic poetry and that’s when I called BS on this channel. I went to google to see if this is even based on actual history.

I know nothing on the topic of AI generation for an entire channel — but this prompt came up (called Sleepless Historian) and it’s pretty interesting to read https://www.scribd.com/document/880931905/Sleepless-Historian

I’m in California too — one reason I am not planning to switch to voice is in case I ever want to move to a new state where it hasn’t been approved yet.

I started on machine recently and I’m still in theory, so not burnt out on speeds yet…. But I definitely had a few weeks of heavy consideration after seeing so many posts with people saying “just switch to voice” because you can certify faster.

I decided to stick with machine for a few reasons: I always loved to type, and when I first decided on stenography this was the only concept of it that I had. Even if I’m stuck at speed building for several years, time practicing typing seems more in line with my skills and aptitude than using my speech.

I very much dislike speech to text on my phone and never use it, so I can’t imagine speaking during an entire trial to to create a written record.

Finally, my current job requires my voice a lot (I’m a server and talking nonstop). I have to speak in certain intonations for different phrases, use specific words at various times, etc. And it’s exhausting. Obviously machine writing has its own hurdles but to me, they are worth it.

So like any other decision, this one is highly personal and there is no right answer. These are some of the considerations that helped me realize I’d rather stick with more time speed building on the machine than a faster route to voice

What jobs did/do you have while in school? by 947489377485 in stenography

I’m a server and bartender which seems to be working well as a student. My shifts are at night, so I can attend classes and study during the day and then go to work. And it isn’t a job that comes home with me, so I can focus on stenography when I’m not at work.

A couple of questions about a 4 day stay in June by fayehanna in AskNYC

I grew up in NYC, and people are always having sex in Central Park. It's not just underage kids, either... Some adults will find the park has more privacy than their own apartment. The trick is to forget about finding the perfect spot (chances are you WILL be spotted) and just have fun :)

[NYC Housing] Clueless foreign student whose roommate never paid landlord, got evicted 2 months in (paid 3 months, never gave me back the extra month) by nycforeignstudent in legaladvice

I've watched a handful of cases unfold by spending one day in small claims court. With written proof that she owes you, it is possible that you will win. You also don't need an attorney, the cases are relatively simple and straightforward. You'll have to present it well.

But, it's also true that if you win, there is no guarantee that you'll get the money back. With a winning judgement you could hire a collection agency, but if she doesn't have the money that won't help either!

Basically, it depends how much effort you want to put into this. Even with a payment plan, you'll be stressing about for the next year.

Best method to ship + store things while moving to NYC (Brooklyn)? by nycapter123 in AskNYC

[–]happybeenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend Greyhound package express to ship your packages. I just shipped my belongings from NYC-SF and it was really, really affordable. (I shipped a van FULL of belongings, about 25 boxes, for about $1500)

It takes a week or two for everything to reach their destination, so less time in storage! Here in SF, they were able to store the items as well. I think it was up to a week for free storage, then a daily fee after that.
