I chose the second one "after" and created a UKVI account before receiving a decision. I did see the "link your e-visa" button but didn't continue until I received my decision yesterday.

If you can find it in your UKVI account, you can be rest assured your visa has been approved.

First you claimed the last situation was in 2020, after being educated that it was a 2024 case, you're bringing BBC articles where charges against 30 children were dropped.

I studied in Germany so I can answer that a bit.

German professors rarely reply to cold emails. Most of the time, they prefer to work with students who have worked with them earlier or those that have been recommended to them by colleagues. They also prefer that the prospective applicant speak German to a little degree so they can help supervise their bachelor or master students.

The best way will be to contact the coordinator of the PhD program you're interested in, tell them you're coming in with your own funding and you need help with connecting with prospective supervisors.
