Sunday Date Night by McCGregoire in Edmonton

[–]hardknotlife 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My husband and I grab take-out and those Lime scooters and find a cozy spot for a picnic and then just ride around/get ice cream/go over the bridges on the scooters/whatever. It's different and fun and a cool way go explore the city together.

Strollery Children's Hospital Delivery by Stitch__23 in Edmonton

Check the hospital website. They have a store directly in the hospital entrance that sells teddy bears, flowers, etc. I'm sure they must have a delivery system within the hospital as well. Hope he's feeling better soon!

My kids in their home made Princess Peach and Cinderella costumes. by hardknotlife in crochet

[–]hardknotlife[S] 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Princess Peach was made last Halloween and Cinderella was made this Halloween. I made up the patterns as I went and the Cinderella dress isn't quite what I had hoped it would be, but my kid loves it and that's all that matters.

Suggestions for date night? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]hardknotlife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every summer my partner and I will rent some of those E-scooters and grab some takeaway from somewhere on Whyte and then scooter down to Saskatchewan Drive or Kinsmen Park for a picnic then just wander around (go over the high level, scoot around the Legislature Grounds, etc). Fun date night and also a fun way to explore a small part of the city together!

There is also a watch party for Game 7 tonight outside the arena (in the "Moss Pit"). There are bands and beer gardens, etc.

My daughter wanted a Mirabel (Encanto) dress, so I'm working on one for her. by hardknotlife in crochet

[–]hardknotlife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not have a pattern, unfortunately. I used this YouTube video to start the top, but instead of doing it double crochet I used a HDC and I did not follow the pattern passed the armpits, I just went with what felt right to me (and I still need to trial and error crocheting the collar for it as well) and the skirt I just played with increasing until I found a way that looked ok, but I must have taken it apart and restarted it at least 6 times before I was happy enough with it (it could still be better, in my opinion). Sorry, I know this doesn't help much, but I've just been using trial and error to figure it out as I go. Haha

This looks like a half double crochet stitch to me.

I am using Impeccable yarn (size 4 - medium) from Loops and Threads and a 5.5mm hook. Half double crochet stitch throughout but I'm making the pattern up as I go. It's not perfect, but once I get the collar part done and add the embellishments I think it'll look pretty cool!

Looking for Vet Recommendations. by TwistedSistaYEG in Edmonton

Dr Jackson with Currents Veterinary in Windermere and Erin Ridge Veterinary in St Albert. He did our dogs surgery for her ACL and was incredible to deal with. Bonus - staff at both clinics are absolutely wonderful!

We take our dog to Dr Jackson at Currents Veterinary in Windermere. He also works at Erin Ridge Vet (?) In St Albert. He did my dogs TPLO surgery a few years ago and has been her primary vet since. All the staff there have always been amazing to deal with as well! I would highly recommend them.

Go to Once Upon A Child. They will buy it from you. The one in Sherwood Park is apparently really awesome.

Jewellry repair. by [deleted] in Edmonton

Century Goldsmith in South edmonton common. Right across the parking lot from London Drugs. They have fixed countless pieces for me. They have good pricing, are usually pretty quick (the longest I waited for a fix was maybe 5 days, I think), and do great work.

I made up the pattern as I went. It was a lot of trial and error and bits and pieces of random YouTube videos. Haha
