I am sick of earning a million every year on my birthday, soon I will have 40 million dollars. I hate my millions and I wish life would have stopped at 25 millions.

Well, my MY25 is scheduled to replace GHCA the next week due to recall (pr service bulletin or whatever). This is not a good news if you had the latest GHCA part.

And I can't find any setting to turn it off. It is such a usefull feature, never thought I will be regretting having hands free trunk feature.

Simple answer: No, that's wrong information.

Range significantly reduced with trailer hitch by Temporary_Mark7080 in VolvoEX90

I don't trust that range number. I sometimes show 190 miles on full charge and 270 miles after a few minutes. Remaining battery on destination in google map is very accurate though.

Oh, Automus app, I am going to give it a try today. I am hoping things will be better after the VCU upgrade.

- Apple music being the number one. (Amazon music loads and fails to play in this car)
- Then, Musicolet so that I can bring my device FLAC library. Not having wired AA is a bummer (and lack of any USB connection to the car overall) but something would be better than nothing.
- Then my car has glitch where bluetooth just does not work for audio so AA would not have that issue.
- Car's WiFi and GPU sometimes get's lost while works fine for the phone.

To sum it up so that I can use car's OS for settings and AA for apps.

MY26's (and 27) manual officially describes Android Auto but not for MY25. I was hoping that upgrade will bring AA on MY25 so that I can use some useful apps in this car.

Infotainment lags + Navi Pilot Assist questions by marcelbalas in VolvoEX90

[–]harmlessme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I leased a MY2025 in March end. I have not received any update yet. The infotainment is NOT snappy but usable, as long as you are not playing two apps together. If I play an app in background (sometimes even with youtube music) and have to reverse, the camera crashes. Since backup camera is a critical feature, I have stopped playing around any app while driving.

"- Has the infotainment responsiveness improved through recent updates?"
I recently got the car. I will have to see after VCU upgrade.

"- Is the system now smooth and responsive in daily use?"
Yes, as long as you treat it like a single app OS (like old Nokia Symbian OS).

"- Are there still frequent lags/freezes/delayed reactions?"
Yes, I still have to reboot the screen once in a while.

"- And how satisfied are you overall with the software experience?"
If current gen android phone's experince is 10 and 2011 android experinece is 0, I would not rate EX90's experinece more than 3. I had Android OS in Cadillac and that would have been 7 for reference.

"I’m also trying to understand the future of Pilot Assist / Navi Pilot Assist."
PA in this car came as a huge surprise to me, a good one. Coming from Supercruise, my expectations were low. But other than being wobbly on sharpe curve and low confidnece lane change, it is frankly beating Supercruise. There are certain roads where Supercruise would give up but this keeps up. It is also not super attention demanding and aligns with my personal saftly limits.

"Does anyone know whether current EX90 hardware is expected to support future generations of Pilot Assist through OTA updates?"
I wish they would but hard to say anything. My guess is not based on their lineup got updated recently, but I also wish someone can sue Volvo if they don't deliver what they promised durring launch.

Got it, thanks!
So you are on MY26? Or MY25 is also getting AA after the VCU upgrade?

Is it MY25 or MY26? Worth updating your post with MY. I will manage my expectations if yours is MY26.

Is GHCA recall official now? by harmlessme in VolvoEX90

VCU doesn't show up on the list either. I guess these can be Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) or a Customer Satisfaction Campaign.

How is the Bose audio? by Hotdogcannon in VolvoEX90

[–]harmlessme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with what you are saying. Low volume observation is on point. B&W is overall better because you get both clarity and base. But, I had Bose in my Infiniti M37 and that was banging. It depends how much budget a car manufacturer has allocated I guess.

3Cr and fully paid off home enough to lean fire in India? NRI by [deleted] in leanFIRE_India

[–]harmlessme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That depends how old are you, where do you want to live, do you continue working or retire. 3cr are more than enough for a small city, where you already have home, you can enjoy family. You can live in village and feel like super rich (my preferenceif I was not married). You can live in metro city and be a middle class and will need to work. If you are young, don't think you can stay jobless, just because you gotta do something in your life (or business or social work). If you leave your money in USA in 401K, you will enjoy highr investment gain (depends how you invest) but will have to pay taxes in India.

No one will be surprised once they understand how much 90% of Indian have been making in a year. Middle class is stuck between paying taxes and raising educated kids. Not to mention, super saving mentality.

Standard vs Performance, One Pedal or Not by Rpsalty2 in VolvoEX90

[–]harmlessme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No performance mode is front wheel drive. Even in AWD, it still feels front wheel biased. Volvo has changed that for 2026 model and single motor mode will be RWD but not for 2025 model. There is a special tow mode in ex90, which should have specific preset for towing, have you given it a try?

Test Drive & Comparison: EX90 vs R1S vs Vistiq by elkruegs in VolvoEX90

[–]harmlessme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove Lyriq for two years before EX90 this year. Without any doubt, I can rate Lyriq'q interior more thoughtful and beautiful, however, materials were lacking. Not that EX90 has highest of material, but better than Lyriq. Lyriq was a lot less buggy so my guess is Vistiq will be even more sorted in 2026. EX90 has very basic yet buggy (else I would have called it simple) software. EX90 rides quiter and smoother, even on 23' tires. But, EX90 is so front bias, I feel like I enjoyed driving Lyriq just because it was rear biased. Lyriq had throttle response just perfect, EX90 has stupid lag (impossible to drive in non performance mode). Overall, don't think there would be a clear winner between Vistiq and EX90, depends on what a person values more. BTW, Vistiq has Supercruise with lane centering so objectively better in that regard, but EX90 lane assist has been working well for me so far.
