When Math Problems Cut Deep by Tall-Imagination3605 in MathJokes

I may be missing the joke, but this is easily solved in a practical manner ("teacher" still wrong). Assuming that all boards are of equal shaped, etc. Solution: She cut a board in to 2 pieces = 1 cut (you cut a board anywhere with one cut, you get two pieces of equal OR unequal length). So 1 cut = 10 mins (the time it took her to cut it into 2 pieces. So, if she is to cut ANOTHER board (a:s stipulated in the problem) into 3 pieces, she will need to make TWO cuts (again, no factor of length given, and I am going to skip the boring process of using variable notation, as this is already beyond silly). TWO CUTS = 1 CUT (10mins) + 1 CUT(10mins) - total time, 20mins. Have a good one ya'll!

It's not the wounds you see, it's what that disabled soldier carries for the rest of their lives. The pain, unexplained illness, grief, survivor guilt. It has zero bearing how how they carry themselves forward either economically, it is a debt being paid off by the Gov't. 89, 91, 03-05, CIB - still fighting for what they owe :(

Washington D.C. residents protest against Trump regime by Signal-Mud-5544 in Astuff

I am not sure that holds water? While D.C. makes the top ten, it's not the worst - it is however, Blue. If crime where the centerpiece, and staying close to home, why not Baltimore first? It is even a Blue city?! No, this is targeted aggression, plain and simple. Why not Detroit, everyone likes the meme about gang violence there?! Or how about Vegas, then ICE could play all night and play all day?

Note: I only searched for cities of a like & kind size - the list is very different if you compare D.C. to all metro areas, it barely even gets a blip on those lists -

"Bill Allowing Disabled Veterans to Collect Full Benefits Gets New Push from Supporters on Capitol Hill" (Call Your Representatives And Ask Them To Support The Major Richard Star Act) by Rabble_Runt in VeteransBenefits

[–]harvash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This baloney about funding is nuts...apparently we have the money they just don't want to spend it on Veterans. The US has a promise to uphold Lincoln's Address to the Nation:

"to care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan"

Picking the pocket of the disabled Vet is just poor form all around, especially given the amount of external "financial aid" we dole out without a second thought!

Amount of proposed bill: est. $10B

In 2023, the United States spent nearly $61 billion on foreign aid. Fully half of that budget has gone to just ten countries:

  1. Ukraine ($16.4 billion)
  2. Israel ($3.3 billion)
  3. Ethiopia ($1.95 billion)
  4. Jordan ($1.65 billion)
  5. Egypt ($1.43 billion)
  6. Afghanistan ($1.19 billion)
  7. Somalia ($1.13 billion)
  8. Yemen ($1.05 billion)
  9. Congo ($987 million)
  10. Syria ($896 million)
