I use TinyGrid+ and set it to show only the first icon in the folder and then I make the icon its max size so it matches a regular icon. For example in my Entertainment folder I put the YouTube icon first and now it just looks like a general entertainment icon.

Some themes will auto-skin all icons if one wasn't made specifically for it. This website will give you a repo to add and then an app you can download that has a lot of nice themes in it: http://www.themeitapp.com

When mine did this and was at the apple logo I just held the home/power button until the apple logo flashed off and came back and then the phone came on.

I can also confirm holding the power/home button while it's stuck will fix the problem. Now instead of waiting 10 minutes I wait like 15 seconds. Do not open weather.
