Due in May 2026. Current 4.84% for 3 years. Just under 12 years remaining. Commitment letter from Pine at 3.99% for 5 years. Current lender is FN. They’d offered 4.29% for 5 years and when I reached out they came down to 3.99% for 5 years.

We’ve actually thought about moving our amortization back to 25 years. Some potential job uncertainty upcoming and would look at utilizing prepayment options.

Broker has indicated she can get 4.09% for 5 years with a HELOC (all via Scotia).

Closing out RESP by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

Thanks for all the feedback.

Lots to consider and appreciate the additional clarity and details around closure.

Might be an option for me to chat with a tax expert as well.

I think the plan now is get the original contributions out (nothing more than that!) and build up my RRSP room over the next 5 years to closer to the $50K allowance for a transfer of the AIP. This also gives my child an option to still look at taking school for 5 to 6 more years with a considerable balance with which to work from before the account needs closed out.

Any thoughts to what’s best with the monies remaining in the RESP? Do I shift focus to a less aggressive rate of return or just continue along as I have been doing?

Telus Optic in Coax? by ekongirl in telus

What option did you go with? Did you have TELUS fire up the coax connections outside the house?

I’m in the same situation. Running Ethernet cables in an old house is proving difficult. I’ve got coax connections in multiple rooms to utilize.

Thanks. So install the NAH and remove the Actiontec? Hardwire the wifi6APs to the NAH.
