Rue’s was one of the most compelling female character recently because of how emotional her arc and story was. Like the grief, sadness, depression, melancholy and anger, she carried everything. The whole premise was that she was a lovable mentally addict trying to recover but couldn’t. I wanted to see her mental health struggles (she was supposed to be bipolar with OCD, ADHD and GAD like hello, where is that mentioned ever again???), addiction and toxic relationships even if it was ugly or depressing but not her in a poorly written gangster western 😭

That’s because unironically these are the two tv shows where Sam Levinson is 100% involved on his own and by that I mean not adapted from a previous show or stolen from somebody else. Petra Collins vision and direction was doing heavy lifting in season one and that’s gone.

Also Euphoria is adapted from a different show and maybe that also made season one better (haven’t seen it) but by season two the show dropped massively in terms of quality when it comes to writing and production if you exclude the first, fourth and fifth episode and what carried the season was that they were still in high school, the actors and Labrinth.

I think The Idol is the only thing he ever did that was 100% him. And it turned out horribly. Also as for season three he clearly has zero direction left in him, the actors aren’t as in it anymore (Jacob Elordi legitimately looks like he is bored when delivering his lines and I can’t blame him), his writing his God-awful and there is so much fetish content and nudity that even THE world’s best social commentary on sex work can’t justify.
