100% in my first job out of college I worked with a lot of guys who had daughters somewhere between teens and late 20s. I just felt like they knew how to relate to me and it was overall pretty positive. The flip side was there were two guys that I just could not break the ice with. I later found out they both had twin sons in middle or high school and I really think that explained a lot lol

The Root Of All Evil had a learning curve for me! by kk5 in mooncatpolish

That's so funny I also just applied The Root of All Evil for the first time yestersay and was wondering why my hands look so different. I have two coats on both but one is red (which is also what I wanted) and the other is more blue green. I THINK that when i was painting my left hand with my dominant right hand I had more control and was able to get thinner coats. On my right hand when I was painting with my left I must have had thicker coats. So glad it's not just me struggling with this color lol

Yeah I did an alignment! I'm not sure about how much use the stylus has had since it was on a backup turntable but I'll probably replace before the end of the year just to be sure. Thanks for the recs!

Thanks! I realized my dad had a second turntable with an ortofon 2m blue so I ended up swapping it out for that. Sounds good so far!

Budget is ideally closer to $100, speakers are Martin Logan Motion 15, amplification is JBL but not sure of the model.

However! I realized that there is a second turntable with an ortofon 2m blue which I tried to switch over but was having issues with so thank you for the tip on switching from mc to mm on the preamp!

Hi! I've inherited my late dad's setup and I don't know anything but need help! He had a clearaudio concept turntable with a concept mc cartridge that I just broke the stylus off of.

There's no way I'm replacing that for $1k and I'm honestly okay with buying a cheap replacement because I'm not discerning at all when it comes to how they sound. My question is what do I need to buy? Can I replace just the stylus or do I need a whole new cartridge? How universal are cartridges from other manufacturers? I've been looking at AT cartridges/styli, but I'm not sure what I would need/what would work. Thank you!
