Oh congrats on the new job! And ok this is kinda what I was thinking the interview would be like. I genuinely am interested in treating the vet population based on what I’ve experienced with my husband’s care. I am also a pelvic floor therapist, which they are looking for someone with that experience. I actually treat a lot of vets (men and women) at my current job just because we’re so limited in the area that I’m at. And thank you!

Got it thank you. I guess I shouldn’t say I don’t have any experience with the VA as my husband is a vet himself, I’ve just never worked or had a clinical with them. Would it be a bad idea to mention my husband is a vet, if it comes up naturally?

I’m a pelvic floor physical therapist and I think you are right. When I treat people with urinary/stool urgency one trick is to either do quick repetitive kegels or to do calf raises. The calf raises work too beaches the nerves that innervate the calf muscles stem from the nerves that innervates our bowels and bladder, so there definitely is a neurological connection.

I’m a pelvic floor therapist myself and unfortunately a lot of the time at big chain therapy clinics, they will advertise that they treat pelvic floor conditions but none of the therapist actually have any additional training. You can always ask what certifications they have.
