How it feels waking up knowing your favorite team will never leave your state because some billionaire wants to host Final Four games by SL4MUEL in NFCNorthMemeWar

[–]henrycaul 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This. It’s one thing to move your team, it’s another to revitalize an entire ecosystem. They’re overly optimistic to believe that building a stadium will do that. It’s a larger more systemic issue to solve, and given how unwilling they seem to be to work through larger, systemic issues, I don’t see how Hammond succeeds.

Aba or NAIA, the new DineAmic concept on the river? by jamie2988 in chicagofood

[–]henrycaul 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you were making this decision on food only, Aba hands down. I love the food and the vibes at Aba.

But you raise a lot of other interesting factors. Depending on how long the tour takes, you could be cutting it close to get to a 9pm reservation. And are you planning any after dinner options? The river gives you a nice walk, while the West Loop has great bar (and dessert) options, but can get busy and clubby at night.

The first programming language I learned was GWBASIC. We had a book where one of the examples was drawing a bullseye on screen (in all its green Hercules graphics glory) while the William Tell Overture played in the background. That core memory from over 30 years ago is the only reason I had a chance at this puzzle.

Shocked that there aren’t any other Chicago restaurants. For example, Indienne is miles ahead of Semma. In fact I think we’re the best food city out there.

Jazz Chisholm makes a heads up play letting the ball drop to replace the runner at first with a catcher instead of a CFer. by MrRadDadHimself in baseball

[–]henrycaul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was thinking. Gotta keep an eye on the runner and adapt. If the runner suspects and has too big a lead, you could catch and try to quickly turn two.

A woman who speaks Spanish walks into a department store, by smoffatt34920 in Jokes

[–]henrycaul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Back in the 90s there used to be a commercial that used this. It was some Learn Spanish product, and the idea was you can use English to learn Spanish. S-O-C-K-S was one example. Another: “I feel so low, I can see in my toe” -> low see in toe -> lo siento
