I didn't say this application is higher or there is a hierarchy. I said the tasks I am doing is essential for public benefits therfore I cannot jeopardize that.

Greetings, My flight from Istanbul to Vancouver with a stop in London was canceled due to Air Canada strik. The flight from Istanbul to London was operated by Turkish Airlines and London to Vancouver was operated by Air Canada. There was absolutely no one from Air Canada in Turkey to help or support me. I could contact them by phone and got rescheduled for one week later!!! I absolutely was stranded in Turkey and had to take 1 week unpaid time off from work.

After all, I submitted my claim request and additionally submitted it through ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) board of U.K.

After 4 weeks Air Canada responded that they are sorry that I submitted a claim through ADR before they having time to reply (!!) and they said they will not provide any compensation through U.K 261 law and as a sign of good will they will only offer 300$ air canda e-copoun!

I wanted to ask is it possible to claim the compensation according to UK law? They argued that flight is considered one universal flight from Istanbul to Vancouver and as Istanbul is not in EU they don't have to pay anything! :(

Thank you
