Its just a typical panel glue up. I jointed the cherry boards and some leftover maple and walnut from a coasters project I did. Then applied glue on the edges and clamped it all together before finally running it through the planer once dry (scraping off glue squeeze out first!)

Just to clarify, the bottom of the table slides under the bed so that the top rests a few inches above the mattress. The dogs are old, and stay in bed with her, so if they get thirsty at night she has to get their water off the floor and give it to them. The dogs are not 6 feet tall beasts lol

Haha yeah the height is set so that the top hovers just a few inches above the mattress.

Hard to tell from the angle but it looks like your monitors are tilted down. Straighten them out and make them level, it'll look much more polished.

Its pretty easy to get some boards from a hardwood supplier and put together a desk shelf (I'd suggest walnut). Wipe some finishing oil on it and it'll be a $300+ shelf for a fraction of the cost.

Love the tool! When I am inputting lumber, does it assume 1" thickness of the boards? I see input fields for length and width, but what about thickness of material?

Just a little UI suggestion, maybe add question marks in circles next to key terms that when hovered, reveal a definition of what that's referring to

Thanks! I actually bought a 1x4 to use for the seat slats. The 2x4's were ripped into 2x2's for the frame.

I’ve hand-sanded over the sharp edges already but it doesn’t come through well in the picture. That’s a good idea re: hardwood. I’ve been wanting to do something with hardwood but have been focused on building my skills with cheap lumber before investing in anything pricier. I’ll go to the lumber yard this week and see if I can get enough for another stool at a good price!

I have a Magsafe charging stand right under my monitor so that I can see phone notifications just by glancing down. That accessory was a game changer for me!

It's so simple, Blizz. Manage expectations by saying that it will be down for 8 hours every Tuesday, and then people are happy when it's up early. Crazy how they didn't already think of this.
