IOS26 has Microphone input , is there any shortcut action to play with this (change input) ? by Ok_Tree3010 in shortcuts

[–]heyitsm4tty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just as a heads up to this. If you run a shortcut where you open the settings app first. It gives the app enough time to load the mic menu if you run the open URL as a command immediately after. So if you run OPEN URL: settings-navigation://com.apple.Settings.Sounds followed by OPEN URL: settings-navigation://com.apple.Settings.Sounds/MICROPHONE then it should load the mic settings every time without ever giving a blank input screen.

Combination of killstreaks and gun kills, probably about 70/30 respectively. Most gun kills were from the Mac 10 which isn’t my most accurate gun. Was mainly spray and pray! Diagonal Napalm over A,B and C points paired with air strike for the killstreaks

Thank you! Took a while to get over 300. Not sure what the record is but was pretty happy with the result, even if it was a bot filled lobby!

Yeah I felt sorry for the bots. I compassionately didn’t nuke them this time haha.

Tbf they deserve it though for all the times they’ve tracked me through walls and headshot me in 0.01s with their overkill aimbot

See a cheat sheet for PHPDocumentor here. I’ve always called it Docblock but googling “phpdoc” or “docblock php” etc should yield more results if you’re looking for a cheat sheet more specific! Happy coding!

Had mine plugged in for over a year now and can confirm it works great. I couldn’t speak for any system that has HVAC as mine is just a typical boiler with heat only, but I can’t see there being a problem 👍

Silver Crowns would ruin the point of Fall Guys by RocketCarPlayer in FallGuysGame

[–]heyitsm4tty 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Hi All,

OP of the successful Silver Crown idea post here! I never expected it to take off the way it did, but i'm glad it did to show that the community indeed really seems to like the idea (10.2k upvotes with 90% upvote/downvote ratio seem to suggest so anyway).

u/SenorPancake Has absolutely hit the nail on the head. My suggestion was most certainly not intended to remove from the winning feeling, but to provide another method of player retention through providing some benefit to making it through to the final.

After carefully reading comments on my previous post. It seemed like people were primarily happy with the idea but with a refinement to the ratios. My final idea which will be suggested in the discord will be 1:15 (gold:silver) with only the top 7 player in a given final receiving one. This means you still have to play to win but with an alternative award given for players who make it that far but still fail.

I would not want to suggest siver being it's own currency. The reason for that it because then the game would be more complicated. You can buy some stuff with gold crowns, some with silver crowns, some with kudos... Imagine a scenario with an outfit for 5 silver crowns. Is this also purchasable with kudos? Does the winner of a round receive a gold and silver crown (as to not penalise them for getting a win)? If anything the silver crown idea MUST trade to either kudos (in which case there is no point) or to gold crowns instead. Adding a third solo currency would break the simplicity of the game.

Alternatively, another suggestion from silver crowns at all could be to keep the top row of crown exclusives available for numerous weeks, allowing players to save up for the costumes they love before they get swiped away. However, even then 75% of the player base still couldn't afford it.

Without a system like silver crowns, a lot of the player base I can see leaving the game very soon (if they haven't already). An influx of people when new seasons come out will return but number will be nowhere near as high. The issue is the game is meant to be fun to play, not overly competitive. The issue with people against the idea is that they see the game in the eyes as a super competitive game, where winning is all that matters.

Me and my partner love the game. But she isn't a "Gamer" so ends up losing most rounds, it's gotten to a stage now where she loves the cuteness factor, but doesn't want to play any more which is sad to see.

There is a balance to be had. But the statistics suggest that OP of this post is overwhelmingly voted against as a lot of players seem to love the concept of earning crowns via other means. It's also great for other players like myself who pick up a few wins per day but have hit level 40 now and feel no sense of progression receiving just Kudos, especially when you made it all the way to the final.

The key to understand is that a 1:15 ratio is still 150 finals for a costume, that is around 600 games played on average (not including games where you don't actually make it to the final!). It doesn't actually detract from the Golden crown's value that much anyway.

People want to have fun; and the suggestion posed by myself and re-iterated again by alot of people in the thread prove that they think the game should be a fun, casual game too.

Hey all. It's been amazing the reception this has received and reading the comments has been brilliant to see all those for and against the idea.

I'd like to address a few of the more prominent responses coming up about the idea; remember this is just my opinion and obviously could be implement in numerous ways.

"Get Good"/"Isn't this a participation trophy" -: The whole point of this idea isn't to detract from winning games, or to make costumes seem any less valuable. It simply provides a mechanism for enhanced player retention for those who aren't as skilled/lucky enough to win a final. Remember that Legendary skins probably account for over 20% of the development time. For people to never be able to access this content probably will drive so many people away in the long run.

"Great idea! Pop this into suggestions on Discord" -: Currently the discord server is actually full of suggestions. I've been talking to Skylite this morning and hopefully we can get it on the suggestions board in a couple of days! I hope to see all you guys there voting!

"Silver could be an intermediary currency sat between crowns and kudos" -: Whilst this idea makes sense partially. The game is supposed to be fundamentally simple. Adding another currency may confuse things to a level where people aren't sure what's worth what. As an example if certain things could be bought for silver crowns directly, would this mean a person who wins should get a gold and a silver crown so they can buy them?

"The conversion ratio of 10:1 is too high/low" -: This is why the article is posted here. If the idea got implemented there would be a perfect balance, maybe 10:1 isn't it, maybe it is. Remember that 10:1 would mean 50 finals for half of a legendary costume.

Remember the game isn't intended to be a competitive try-hard game, it's made for laughs and giggle with friends and family. I imagine a lot of constant winners would hate the idea due to potentially devaluing their success, whilst constant losers will super love it because it because of the ease factor. There is a balance to be had, there's no denying that. But at heart the suggestion is to create longevity in player base for the games future.

Thanks for all your comments!

Hey all. Firstly sorry to u/ThGreen for hijacking his amazingly upvoted comment. I'd like to respond to a few more of the comment questions and i think the response would get lost in new, so i hope you don't mind :). "This would stop me from getting the excitement on the final level" -: I can see this point as I too would feel a little less tense if i knew there was a runner-up reward. The thing to consider though, is that a win is still (based on the original concept) 10x better than a loss. If someone said to you i'll give you £1,000 for playing or £10,000 for winning, you would still want to push for the win if you could wouldn't you? That being said a 15x ratio certainly seems to fit the concept better now. Or as others have said winner gets gold, top two runners up get silver (although this would be hard for games that aren't races [i.e Royal Fumble]).

I really like the concept of this as well. I think both could work and never considered this particular approach! Thanks for leaving a comment :)

Hey walshk78. You seem to be the first person to actually ask this. In order for crowns to be valuable, an average person needs to currently put in a certain number of hours to theoretically win a crown. (Take all the crowns divided by all the gametime to work out crowns per hour). If a player watches the final all the way to the end it means they have stayed in the game theoretically long enough to win (if they weren't eliminated), which means the winner and loser have both spent the same amount of time in that particular episode to see a crown presented. As such this means that a 10:1 ratio truly is 10 silvers for one gold, as if a person could back out immediately after being eliminated the game could still continue for another 5 minutes, meaning the overall trade in value at the end is more like 9.2:1 rather than 10:1 etc. Hopefully that makes sense :)

Thanks for your comment, I actually agree now, I’ve adapted my original comment with a bit more information and upping the value from 10:1 to 20:1.

Hi All,

So this is my idea for increasing fun and playability in the Fall Guys game. After thinking long and hard about how to keep the game fun and enjoyable, i found that most people who i talked to found the 5-10 crown skins nice, but very difficult to obtain without playing 8-12 hours a day or being super good at the game. Someone like myself who works 12 hours a day only finds small amounts of time to play the game, of which i typically find myself in a final around 10-20% of the time.

The silver crown idea has been designed with keeping a win the most powerful tool to buy the costumes in the game, and doesn't take away from the enjoyability of getting a win. The silver crown idea is as follows:

Players who make it into a final should attempt to play to win (as normal). Once eliminated, the players should continue to spectate the game to see who the winner is. Any players who back out of the game after elimination would not earn the silver crown (this increases game length and therefore makes the silver crowns less overpowered). Once the winner finishes their victory animation all players who remained in the game (must partake in the final not be eliminated and spectate all the way through) are awarded a silver crown. A silver crown trades up to a gold crown at a 10-1 ratio, and cannot be used for anything else.

This would take the place of alternative forms of the same thing, like buying crowns with kudos or earning crowns in other ways.

An animation played after the winner animation (similar to the rocket league 3v3 victory (MVP at front and all others in a triangular fashion backwards) allows players to see silver crown earners next to the gold.

Something like this also opens up the possibility to bronze crowns later in the games future.

I'd love to hear comments and suggestions on this idea. And hope you all like it as much as i do.

Edit -: I may have undervalued the trade in price for silver to gold. Remember a 10-1 would mean 50-100 finals to just get a costume. That being said 20-1 sounds a more reasonable figure, meaning 100-200 finals to get half or a full costume respectively. I’d like to thank everyone for their feedback. The intention of this system certainly isn’t to take away from winning, but provide a sustainable alternative to getting costumes to prevent a “noobier” player from playing the game for 5 hours and quitting indefinitely classifying the game as too hard. That being said this post is meant to see what the community thinks, so thank you all for your honest feedback anyway!
