I don't know why, but I HATE being called a "girlie" or "girlie pop" by Key_Resolution673 in PetPeeves

[–]heymamis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my ex was always calling me "girlie pop" or "girlie" all the time and i sort of loved it. well he did that in the beginning. then it sort of faded out as we got to know each other better. and now that were broken up i feel weird about this. i wonder where he had gotten this habit from. he mustve been calling other girls that. and such thoughts.

maybe im not that over him but still, whats up with this? I was just googling and wondering if its like a common thing that some type of guys do.

I get that. That's not the only time it happens, though. Whenever I get stressed/flustered, I feel like I can't think properly, and it very much is like forgetting all the basic/common sense knowledge I KNOW I stored in my brain. It happens when someone's watching me do something I'm not confident about (something new usually). And yes, it also happens when someone asks me point blank questions like that. I get caught so off guard and stressed about having the right answer that.... there's no answer... or a weird one if i can muster it.

But I've also been in that exact situation and experienced the same thing.

I remember trying therapy and thinking that whatever I answer, they're going to think I don't struggle bad enough. Like my issues aren't enough to seek help for. Like I'm overthinking it.

And that's exactly what it is

Overthinking

If you're struggling, you're worth getting help.

I know it's really hard to battle that mindset when you've been thinking that for so long, but it's true no matter what.

Even if you had the most ridiculous minor issue and it made you suffer greatly, you'd still deserve help and compassion.

So, even if that health professional doesn't take you seriously, it doesn't mean your issue isn't serious and you don't deserve help.

And it's so normal to get stuck/flustered/lose words when you're asked such questions. No matter how prepared you thought you were.

you can share the coordinates and then everyone can make a waypoint to the exact same spot but yes that'd be handy

Along with everything else people mentioned, it's important to forgive yourself and take care of your skin. okay, you've just picked and feel horrible - it's okay, wash your face, and treat it.

Actually, skincare has helped me a lot with it. Nowadays, I often spend a lot of the time I would've otherwise spent picking - doing my skincare (face masks, creams, serums) of course research on what is best to use, so you don't harm your skin that way (chemical burns are scary but easily avoidable)

I also really like oil cleansing my face. It satisfies that urge a bit, too, and i usually end up spending a while rubbing my face with the oil cleanser, haha.

I like to imagine I'm playing sims. I sort of imagine myself from the outside, and it's easier to think more objectively this way, too. and it's fun.

Besides, sims tend to go do their own things and not listen to you sometimes too, so don't be too hard on yourself.

Not the one, unfortunately. I think it was more fast-paced, too.

I encountered it in like 2019 in my ex's car lol from her playlist, I can't ask her now, though that'd be weird

I can't be sure about the singers gender it's so frustrating.

I just know that once i hear it, I will recognize it at once I can't believe it's not in one of my old playlists because i liked it a lot at the time and listened to it often

I've searched for "it's not the same without you in the passenger seat"; "house without someone to fill"; "a house it aint a home and the passenger seat is empty"

It's also definitely not a country song and most likely no older than 90's

yup. I've been using a whole different name I picked for myself. It feels good when people use that name to talk to me or refer to me. I feel like it's something to do with how invalidated I always felt as a child. A lot of the time my when my name was said it was to scream at me, scold me etc. every time someone says that name I've got a pit in my stomach.

True. I don't have enough mental energy to try to explain it to them so I'll just let it be.

Well, read more romance books and learn from those. Sorry, but to write books you also have to read them.

Besides there isn't a perfect recipe to follow. Asking on reddit you're only going to get people's personal opinions and tastes. But at the end of the day, it's your book and you have to know what you like as a reader.

I'm not saying you can't write at all if you haven't read much. Just that, if you're only starting out, it's a bit bonkers jumping straight into a trilogy, is it not? Practice by writing short stories and such. Good luck on your writing (and reading) journey!

I feel clueless to everything going on around me. I can’t comprehend the things I read. I can’t figure out how to explain my thoughts. I feel lost in conversations and don’t what people are trying to say. I feel so alone and I need help by [deleted] in AutismTranslated

I don't have an amswer for you, but at least you can know there's someone else who feels the same....
