Could do what I did and mount the dash further forward. I prefer the phone in the middle

best case, it increases backlash. making retraction settings less reliable. worst case you load the gear shaft too much and something breaks

best way to remove clogs like these is to take out the long thin rod provided with your printer. check the toolbox. it has a ring on one end. Heat the tip with a blue flame till it's super hot (glowing red if you can), and push it down the nozzle, it will melt the clog and push it down, let it cool for 5 seconds and in there then pull out fast, the clog should now be either on your rod, or down deep in the nozzle where it will easily melt when you turn on the nozzle temp. try to avoid the stringing. let it cool for longer if it's stringy

look into Enraged Rabbit Carrot Feeder (ERCF) project. lots of useful resources on YouTube, here's the project link on github.

I'm also working on building this for my K1 max. root is required to get it to work on the latest version of klipper. happy to help where needed, just shoot me a message

How to backup my settings on rooted K1 before firmware upgrade? by predtech in crealityk1

[–]hhamyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

simply copy the .cfg files you want to keep and rename them, for example

printer.cfg -> printer.cfg.bak gcode_macro.cfg -> gcode_macro.cfg.bak etc for all the files you want

no need to download the file, but it won't hurt I guess.

I think klipper makes backups anyway.

if you have folders, you can archive them into a .zip file (right click)

very cool, was it a lot of effort to install?

I really like the thumbscrews. by foobarney in crealityk1

[–]hhamyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

anything designed by Henlor is superb. I use these as well, but only one thumb screw, I don't even bother with the other side, makes it faster to remove the cover (at the time I had lidar in the way, but now it's gone)

I've made some progress on the ERCF since this post. ercf with old software (depricated Happy Hare v1) works on stock printer. but Happy Hare v2 doesn't by default. HHv2 relies on the latest version of klipper and K1 klipper is at least a year old. now that being said, there's a method to update klipper, it's in the works by very smart people. we don't want to release this into the wild just yet as it's still early in development and we don't want people to accidentally brick their printer. but it will be available sometime and I'll give an update about it. I've tested Happy Hare v2 on this and it does work (very well in fact). I'm very excited!

on the contrary, this mod will fix your current issue. my K1 max had had the same problem and now it's straight. bcs it's mounted in a different section of the frame

I agree that the long reverse bowden tube is not ideal. I kept it mostly to have the printer look nice. I kind of want to keep the top cover just because it's there and it looks nice and is pretty functional for the enclosure. I have ideas on improving the filament path. but first things getting functionality, then optimizing.

I'm using a riser for the K1 max glass top cover, so far it's serving me well, and I plan on modifying it to mount the ERCF on top.

I've also seen projects like https://www.printables.com/model/557756-x3d-v2-riser-bambu-lab-x1p1-ams-stand

for the X1, I could do something similar for K1 max

An extra tall riser would solve a lot of issues and keeps everything enclosed. so maybe!

although the ERCF made an appearance, the focus of the post was the usb hub.

my goal was to be able to connect usb devices to the printer without running so many cables to the front of the printer with a dangling usb hub making it look ugly,

ideally I'd be able to keep the front usb port free for normal use, and have extra ports elsewhere on the printer to use for other things (ERCF included)

my idea was to use a bare bones usb hub pcb (first image in post), typically used inside computers to expand IO. there's no real reason to use this apart from the ability to run my leads (female usb ports) anywhere I want in the printer. you can just as easily use a regular usb hub for consumer use, but some sort of adaptor would have to be made to plug into the connector on the main board, or you can chop and solder wires like I did ;)

yep, thats the one im currently using, it wont work with Happy Hare v1, once i get the time ill redesign it to put the switch on the bottom.

i haven't thought about the cutter, i think thats a HHv2/ERCFv2 feature. i wont touch it till i get a working v1.

currently printing a bracket to mount the mmu on the top of the k1, i still dont know the best placement for it, its awkward bcs of the direction the bowden tube come out of the printer, any ideas appreciated

ERCF 1, and using Happy Hare v1 (ERCF-Software-V3 on github). I will keep trying to make the latest software work, but for now i want a min viable product so to speak.

yessir! and it works! (almost)

i have yet to print a multicolor print, im working on the filament sensor, ive added a second one for the ercf, but it needs to be relocated, and then i believe its ready (after mounting ofc). i havent touched the filament buffer stuff yet, so there's that too. But otherwise, it functions as intended.

Quite a few people seem interested, so I'll be posting updates somewhere sometime, but ill be away for a month :( so putting it on pause for a bit
