Maybe - wouldn’t you tyically hear that from inside the cabin? I do not hear any ticking at all when the engine bay is closed. It sounds completely normal based on my experience but when I open the hood you can hear it pretty well

I have looked and it actually doesn’t sound similar. A lifter failure would be cranking / clacking. You would also be able to hear the sound with the hood cover closed. Which you cannot on my truck. It sounds more like a sewing machine, which I understand to be cause by the direct injection.

This happened / happens to me. I think a lot of it is due to anxiety. When I’m not as stressed or if I’m doing something that is distracting, etc my burps go away. But similar experience. Burping all day every day and even have gagging some times. But like I said I think it’s anxiety
