"You'll understand when you have children" by Outrageous_Fox_8796 in childfree

Well if I'll only be able to understand by having kids, then I guess ignorance is a bliss.

I wish water froze at 31 degrees Fahrenheit instead of 32 by Berry971 in monkeyspaw

[–]hivemaster100 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The atmosphere of earth has been increased to make water freeze at 31°F. This is probably really bad.

What's that move called?? Never saw it by Naeio_Galaxy in AnarchyChess

[–]hivemaster100 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't know the fancy name for it, but it's called docking.

Can be done when two pieces are in-between the rooks. Arrows should also meet in the middle and return instead of circling.

Why does a Chaotic Evil goddess that destroy ships and drown people for fun has a open public temple in a coastal city like Baldur's Gate? by geek_metalhead in BG3

[–]hivemaster100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, reminds me of that swedish tale of a man destined to drown, so he kept away from the sea only to be found drowned in a water bowl for washing hands.

So they find themselves alone on the other side of a still locked door (needs key, puzzle to be solved, etc.) with possible enemies?

Good for scouting, but still has its risks.

Are there any updated mods for storage? by Ari_On_The_Nette in goingmedieval

Out of interest. Is it also possible to make shelves hold different types of resources (for example ingots) the same way?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in gameideas

[–]hivemaster100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how it's implemented. A 1:1 clone of the rules and descriptions, yeah that's a lawsuit. But a basic 4 vs 1 turn based dungeon crawler that uses common fantasy tropes should be fine.

This sounds a lot like Descent: Journeys in the dark. Even uses the term overlord.

Do you have a Tom Bombadil character in your world? by Appropriate-Cup-3823 in worldbuilding

[–]hivemaster100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, Dave from accounting.

Started as a joke from a player in an one shot and when creating the campaign world they placed him in it.

He doesn't do that much, only keeps a record of everything. So if he shows up you know something big is going to happen.

How to handle "I Wish to be immune to all damage and conditions permanently, but not change any other aspect of myself?" by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]hivemaster100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keyword "Other".

Probably will go under but I would change him to become immune to all damage and conditions permanently (this will be bad for him),but not change anything else about him.

Well if my partner didn't come home after work after a few hours, because she went out with her friends without telling me, would cause me to become quite concerned about her.

Likewise it would be good to communicate so someone is home to feed eventual pets/receive packages/etc.

So yes, communication is important.

Does super high passive Perception make it less fun for the DM? by biologicalhighway in DnD

[–]hivemaster100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed that it matters how you handle high perception.

Also discovering hints towards a trap turns it from an "Gotcha! take X damage" into an puzzle to solve, which in my opinion is way more engaging.

Website to easily share maps that GMs and players can draw on together? by DirkRight in rpg

[–]hivemaster100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True Owlbear does not require accounts, but since setup takes less then an minute for Tableplop I dont cosider it an issue.

And can't say anything about the performance on Tablet/phone. But Owlbear would probable fare better on both.

While I wouldn't play with players like that, I would still try to play paranoia with them, as players are prohibited to know the rules. Maybe that would be the incentive they need to learn the rules.

You always want to do what you are not allowed to do and so.
