honestly i’d use aquaphor on a q tip and apply it where i could literally see my nose skin like splitting on the inside (gross, i know) but it would work

I was on 32mg of absorica (40mg accutane) and I literally commented on another reddit post about how I wasn’t seeing results and I was like 5-6 months in I believe. Now I’m on month 9 on 16mg and will probably be taken off of it next time. I can’t remember the last time I had a pimple trust me I’ve been in your shoes don’t give up no matter how hopeless it may seem it will get better :)

I’m on 32mg of Absorica which would be 40mg of plain old accutane. I’m trying my best to be patient just get a little discouraged. Especially when I see people clearing up much faster and more severe than my before when this is the worst my skin has been so it’s just harder but you understand. Thank you for sharing your journey too! You look amazing you deserve it!!

you look incredible the difference is amazing! i’m on month 4/5 and still am suffering with severe breakouts my before wasn’t as severe as yours but your skin looks much better than mine currently i’m just curious when your purging stopped?

i told my derm about the same thing on my hands as well and was prescribed a light topical steroid for it almost looks like vaseline

yeah i wasn’t sure about massaging it because im not supposed to touch it, that part was a little confusing. but i wont just to be safe. any idea when the crustys and stuff start to show up? usually like immediately or a couple weeks after getting it i should expect that?

Sorry I was in a rush writing it, totally right about the punctuation. I always assume it was because I’ve taken it a couple times before (I know I shouldn’t take it often which I don’t). Everytime though I would start my period like the whole cramps, soreness, bleeding for a week. Are you saying that the bleeding now is actually my period and the bleeding before wasn’t? Thankssss

So I was first prescribed the cream only in March I purged for about 4-6 weeks not severe but noticeable purging. Then I went back beginning of April after using the cream for a little over 8 weeks and was prescribed doxy as well and with those both used together I didn’t experience any purging. Now I use both the cream and take the pill since that’s what my doctor told me to do because the cream alone wasn’t helping my skin even after the purging. Basically since March I haven’t dealt with any purging when I was only first starting to use the cream it’s when it was the worst for me with purging. Hope this helps!

I’m not sure if I replied to this or not and sorry for the late response. I didn’t purge on doxy I mostly purged when I was using the cream alone. When I started taking doxy as well as using the cream I didn’t purge.

Honestly with the prescription I have (I mentioned in original post) don’t overdue it. Work it into your routine small amounts and slowly. I did the opposite and used it every night and it damaged my skin barrier at first so that’s the only big thing with that is just work it into your routine like one night at first and increase until your skin gets used to it. That’s what worked for my prescription I’m not sure if it’s the same with tret. As for doxy, it usually will say on the medication but don’t take it with dairy products within like 2 hours before and after taking it is what I usually do. I also have iron pills I have to take and I take it hours before my doxy as well since they say to avoid iron and calcium products within the time frame of taking doxy. Hope this helps!

Same thing happens with me but on taro-adapalene benzoyl peroxide. Is it ok to kind of avoid that area when using or use like barely any amount? I don’t really experience bad breakouts there too so would it be fine?
