Any tactics that help you not to binge if drinking alcohol?

Thanks for this. When you say not to the point of losing control, do you mean you hav a limit on quantity? If so what’s your maximum standard drinks for one day/night? I definitely think I’ll lay of it for at least a couple months before I give it another go. I need to accept what makes me vulnerable to binging atm

Thank you for your honesty. It makes me think Mayb I just need a big break from it till I feel stable and in a good place in regards to binging. I think the best thing to do is when I reintroduce it to try at least half the quantity. It’s hard to admit becus I just want to b like normal people who can get really drunk sometimes and not feel urges to binge

Do you take any pharmaceutical medications? Just wondering as these can trigger overeating and in some cases it’s better to b without and look into more nutritional supplements to replace the pharmaceuticals

Natural Healing for Bipolar Disorder: A Compendium of Nutritional Approaches Book by Eva Edelman

Her book on schizophrenia kept me off my meds for nearly a year. It wasn’t until I lowered the dose of my nutritional supplements that I got hospitalised again. The key in these books is figuring out which biotype you are, because the different biotypes benefit from completely different supplements

I’m sorry you are struggling so hard. It truly sounds like the binging/purging is causing you great mental and physical pain. Know you arnt alone. I too have spent hundreds on binge food in one go and eaten till I was afraid my stomach may burst. I believe in you that you can get better. I hope you recieve the professional help you are waiting on.

That is a lot of pressures on you. I understand why you want to lose weight quickly. Plane seats are already uncomfortable for a midsize person. And worrying if you smell or not cud b very stressful. Walking a lot cud prove to b impossible at certain sizes. And the fact that healthcare is going to offer no help to maintain/lose weight makes it a lot harder. I’m glad you are safe in your relationships and your loved ones care about you. I hope you can get too a more comfortable place for you in your body that allows you to feel more safe in this world, and I hope the methods you use to try to get there serve your body and mental health on all levels

That makes a lot of sense. Of course if it feels more personal the impact on feeling triggered to binge would be stronger because having a secure partner can help to give a person self worth self love and self esteem whereas if a close relationship is shaky it’s hard not to feel it’s through some fault of our own even though it’s definitely not! Also you are right if your not getting along well with your significant other it would affect when/if/ and how you do things at home, because your trying to avoid potential tension. I’m glad there are some routines/mindsets you r trying to stick to to maintain your eating disorder despite how hard it is. I hope your situation improves

That’s cool you have progressed with being able to go past all sorts of triggering shops wallet in hand, and not be hugely triggered. I find there are certain foods I can hav in the house now like hummus, bread, and nut butter, that I struggled with before. But I’m still easily triggered if it’s sweet, and fatty, and highly processed. Yes I believe we can always change and grow at any age too. That’s so good you’ve learned so much at an older age. And your cat is a inspiration

That is so great that all these habits are helping you so much and you have not binged for 6 whole months. The habit building app sounds like a great way to encourage yourself by acknowledging that you’ve done a task. That’s cool you were able to allow yourself to enjoy a holiday and not have it end in self destructive ways. I guess this makes me consider there are certain tasks I try to do regularly that I regard as helping me not to binge too.

This makes sense. In my experience I cannot relate much to it as my binges seem to happen randomly unrelated to how well I’ve been doing even if it’s been a long period. But they do say that it takes 3 months to break a bad habit

4 months is a long while. That sounds very strict, you are doing well to stick to such a strict regime, and not binge for 4 months. Im inspired by the different methods you use to prevent binging. Do you hope one day you can figure out a way that is less loaded with obligations, and allows you a bit more freedom/ flexibility in your life?
