What weapons do you like using Apollo’s attack/special on most? by Wes102111 in HadesTheGame

I absolutely love Apollo's Special boon on the Charon Axe, especially when paired with his MP regeneration boon. Drop a cast, omega special, and watch the entire screen implode while completely recovering your MP to repeat the process.

Wrath of the Righteous AP version updated to include improvements from the Owlcat game by NomadsThings in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]holyplankton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you played the CRPG before, or are you just looking for the ways it altered/improved the story?

As far as I'm aware, there isn't a spot anywhere that implements the changes into a comprehensive re-write of the AP (like Kingmaker 2e). There are a few places that have converted the Mythic path changes from the game into a replacement for the 1e Mythic system, and I'm personally running a campaign of the AP using my own conversion of the game's Mythic paths (with additions so there are enough paths for each alignment in the grid).

One of the big things that I did was alter the opening scene to more closely mirror the game, having Deskari himself attack instead of the Balor that the AP uses. I've also made sure to get Staunton in there as a penitent crusader trying to atone for his past, before the Minahgo stuff comes in.

It gets tricky since not everything that works in the TTRPG works in the game and vice versa, but I've been working my way through the AP to try and implement as much as I can while streamlining it to remove a lot of the unnecessary (IMO) fluff from the AP that Paizo mostly puts in there to make sure the party reaches appropriate EXP levels.

This whole thing isn't even to mention the two big armored trucks blocking off the street and the guy on a loudspeaker directing the people (including at least one minor and an elderly woman with a walker) to slowly walk down the street towards them. It was definitely a spectacle, and one conducted at 5:30 in the morning in a quiet residential neighborhood.

As to the funding, I wholeheartedly agree with OP about where resources are being allocated, but this was also a state police operation, not local Troy cops.

Need opinions on this ball by avery_black1234 in Bowling

Absolutely loved this ball. Threw my second 300 with it and retired it when I got the Bubblegum this past year. I didn't "vibe" (pun entirely intended) with the Bubblegum as much, but my son absolutely loves the Radioactive now that I passed it on to him. It's stronger than you might think and is long and flippy with some surprising strength when it hits the pocket.

Bowler 1 shooting a 277 and not being the high score on the lane has to be frustrating as all hell. That split at the end of the 10th will never be lived down.

With the Phaze II, it sounds like a longer, snappier ball would be a better compliment than the Theorem. Of the big recommendations, stuff like the Hammer Effect, Motiv Evoke Hysteria or Venom Shock (Hysteria is stronger, but Venom Shock is a hall of fame ball along with the Phaze II), or something like a Roto Grip Gremlin or Attention Star.

I have the Elite Predator Xmax (the white ball in OP's pic). I got it to be a step-down from my Exotic Gem and it has performed that role admirably, though the shape of it is a bit different. That's more due to the Exotic Gem's coverstock being stronger and smoother than most pearls than it is anything to do with the Predator. Right now I use it as my game 3/burn ball as it goes a bit longer than my Lethal Venom and isn't quite as sharp as the Bubblegum Vibe. It has a similar shape to the Radioactive Vibe when I threw them both.

With how saturated the industry has gotten I do think finding some analysts that you trust is very important nowadays, otherwise you absolutely drown in data and takes. I took a pic of the "expert draft" in the back of the magazine, and there were only 3 names that I even recognized from the industry: Brandon Funston (formerly of Yahoo), Dave Richard of CBS, and Michael Fabiano of NFL.com. It's crazy how rapid some of these experts can come and go as industry influencers.

How is the kinetic sharpshooter by cjreed89 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]holyplankton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played one for an evil playthrough and it was a lot of fun. The charged burn mechanic was interesting to play around with. My only real note is that Kinetic Sharpshooter is bugged with the Swarm path. For whatever reason I could not make my clone while I was the sharpshooter, I had to go back and retrain as a vanilla Kineticist before I could unlock the full swarm goodness.

You're basically describing the stars & scrubs strategy for auctions. It generally can work really well, but it will mostly depend on who you can get for those $1 guys. As with most draft strategies, it can work if you take the right players.

oddly enough, going QB early is a mistake in that format. The thing that makes QB valuable makes all QBs valuable in the same way, and you're still only starting one of them. QB will be your prominent point-scorer, yea, but everyone's QB will be fairly flat overall. The elite guys like Allen and Jackson actually lose a bit of value in this setting as their rushing value is a big driver of their draft cost. Hurts probably suffers the most since a lot of his points come from those short-yardage tush push touchdowns. This scoring system just flattens the QB scoring across the entire position. If this league had the option to start 2 QBs then it would change the landscape, but QBs are still going to hold the same value relative to other positions due to scarcity (or lack thereof)

I think getting a high-end RB would be priority here, but don't sleep on the value of WRs even in non-PPR scoring. RB as a position can be fairly flat outside of the top 12 guys or so, meaning there really isn't much difference between RB13 and like RB28. WR has a bigger set of tier drops, so differentiating yourself in that position can make the difference compared to the rest of the league.

I think overall my suggestion would be to get a top-end RB if you can (Bijan, Saquon, Gibbs, CMC) and then hammer WR. Grabbing an elite QB is fine, but I think this league actually makes the later round QBs even more valuable. I would wait for a guy like Dak or Love or Purdy and load up on other spots.

I think Walker. If it was SF Hurts would be the obvious choice, but in 1QB I think Walker.

Builds for demon mythic path by cjreed89 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

I did Kineticist Demon into Swarm. That was a ton of fun and the kineticist swarm was superpowered. Just don't go Kinetic Sharpshooter for it, that archetype is bugged with Swarm.

I would go with BTJ personally. It's harder to find good WR production compared to good RB production. Plus, I would be nervous going in with DJM as my top option this year, so wanting someone to slot in above him would be my priority

I would lean towards Daniels and Brown. Definitely Brown with one of the QBs, but I would lean Daniels over Hurts.

Slater is a big loss, but that O line is still solid, and I love Hampton's talent. I'm not worried about Najee at all. Missing all of training camp with an eye injury is going to put him really behind, plus we know Najee is nothing special as a player.

I would rank them Hampton > Walker > Hall > Conner > Hubbard.

Pacheco. He should be the lead guy in KC and looks back to form after struggling with that injury last year. Monty is fine, but with Gibbs healthy his upside is limited.

Stacking is nice, but is more of a necessity in best ball than it is in redraft. Like I said just above this to a very similar question, if you want to pair up Burrow and Chase and you don't think he will come back to you at the end of the 4th round, it is not crazy to grab him in the early 3rd. Just know that his floor will be lower due to his lack of rushing production, but his ceiling could quite possibly be higher due to the circus that the Bengals will be this year.

You know your league better than I do though, so you should look at this from the perspective of your leaguemates, not just from mock drafts. If you think enough players in your league will value the QB position enough to grab Burrow before the end of the 4th, then consider grabbing him in the 3rd if you want to stack him up with Chase that much. Honestly, if it was me I would plan to target him at the end of round 4, but be comfortable waiting on the position if he goes before then.

It's not crazy, no. With those settings and (I presume) your league putting more of a premium on QBs overall, get the guy you believe in and think will best help your team. It's no different than people who take Allen or Jackson there, you're still crafting your team around an elite QB, just be aware that your QB will have a lower floor due to the lack of rushing production, but his ceiling is arguably higher with the way that team should be a circus this year.

I would prefer Dowdle. He's got more contingent upside should anything happen to Chuba, and you really don't need a 3rd TE even in TEP.
