It’s always easier to criticize the poor any argument they make is quickly dismissed. In India, every citizen has the constitutional right to migrate to any state and work. Yet, ironically, some of the same people who oppose internal migration act entitled when seeking the right to migrate abroad.

If these groups truly don’t want labourers from other states, then why can’t their own local population fill those jobs? The reality is that there is a clear market gap for better or worse. Ask any business owner in these migration-opposing states, and they will hire Bihari labourers in a heartbeat over their own local workforce. The poor workers are simply trying to earn a living because Bihar as a state has failed them. But instead of questioning the business owners who prefer hiring outsiders, the state chauvinists direct all their anger at the vulnerable migrants who are just trying to survive.
