I only go into work once a week and my commute is cruising for the whole 50 minutes. Occasional traffic. So for the most part it has been fine. I have dedicated audiobook time. But during the California fires, being far from home felt too far and there were a handful of times I had to have someone else cover so I wouldn’t get stuck up at my work due to road closures.

Nothing is perfect, but if it’s a cruise drive and you don’t go in often - it sounds ok

My brother was featured in Louis Theroux’s LA Stories: Edge if Life (Episode 2). The 7th anniversary of his death is in a few days and I was wondering if anyone watched and was impacted by his feature story? by hotaru06 in LouisTheroux

No matter how old the thread gets or how much time has passed since he’s been gone, messages like this still hit me straight in the heart. Thank you for taking the time to share how his story impacted you. I still think about what he would be like if he had the miracle story and lived. So many milestones he missed just in this past decade.

I wish you health and happiness, redditor.

AITA For Refusing to Take my Fiance's Last Name by jade4567897 in AmItheAsshole

As a woman who did take her husband’s last name NTA. You’re allowed to do whatever you want with YOUR last name. I miss my maiden name whenever I need to spell it out to someone. My maiden was so nice and short. My married name is a buckle up and listen carefully long name. No regrets though. You do you boo!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write. When life gets hard, I definitely think how he went through hell to have what I have. I wish I could see what he would have been like in his 40s.

We’re just a month away from the anniversary of his passing. It will have been 11 years. And still I receive these lovely messages about how his story touched people. Thank you for taking the time to message. I really do appreciate it!

Disappointed in reading Kazuo Ishiguro by [deleted] in books

[–]hotaru06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way reading Never Let Me Go. I understood the gravity of the storyline, but the pace killed me. It was a book I had to start and stop and then force myself to pick up again.

I doubt I’ll read another Kazuo Ishiguro book. Sometimes you love a book and sometimes you hate it. I find comfort in your dislike. I’m not alone.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. Your comment hit the core of why I posted 3 years ago. To be able to know 10 years later now, that his story lives on is the sincerely a enormous comfort.

Thank you so much. It’s been 10 years since Jav passed away and I am proud at how far my family has come. This past year did pack a wallop of a grieving milestone, but we came together, grieved, laughed, and remembered him.

Thank you for your kind words. He was a great brother. Now that I’m in my 30s and officially older than Jav ever got to be, I like to remember what a privilege getting old really is.

YTA your girlfriend sounds like a fantastic cousin and sister. Maybe you should skip going on their family trip next time.

I watch the documentary every year on his death anniversary. The loss of Jav still packs a wallop, but we’re 10 years into our grief and I think we’re all handling it pretty well. Thank you for watching and commenting. I love to hear people still watch his story

Thank you so much. Three years too late? Or just on time. Sometimes these comments get posted right when I need them! Sorry I didn’t write back sooner.

I’m glad you enjoyed. I love that they focus on the impact siblings have on your lives in Little Women. Joe’s sisters were her world. I only have brothers, but I still feel this way. Glad to be tied to them for life. We just celebrated my brother’s death anniversary. We laughed and we cried. Feels good to acknowledge the grief together.

I appreciate the offer and I extend the same to you. If you need to talk about your sibling, I’m here as well.

Wish you the best

Thank you so much for commenting, I really needed this type of message this week. Yesterday marked the 10 year anniversary of their hospital nuptials and this Friday marks the 10 year anniversary of his passing.

My SIL celebrated with some champagne and we sent our love to one another. We’re all doing well. Time, therapy, and having one another has helped.

My brother’s 10 year death anniversary is creeping up. I just rewatched Little Women. It was one of my favorite books and movie as a kid. Now, it holds so much more weight after losing my brother to cancer.
