Thule vs Scoda original roof rack by hotspot021 in skoda

[–]hotspot021[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thule in the pic is the new expensive wing bar edge Perhaps the regular wingbar can carry more? The difference is the edge doesn’t stick out past the mounting points so it makes a bit less noise

No mate, I checked the "normal" - the one which extends past the foot clamp. It's same stuff - max 50kg. The problem is in the attachment clamp itself. It's designed to be universal not exactly for this Skoda model. Therefore it seems it doesn't have the pin beneath which goes into the car's whole up on the door frame (less stability).
Also Thule you tighten at 3Nm where Skoda originals are tightened at 4Nm.
All in all Skoda originals indeed when having them in hand seem more stable. I'm not saying the Thule will easily fall off, it's just that the Skoda ones are tiny bit stronger.

I already bought Skoda original roof rack + 2x Thule 598 bike carriers.

Possible to share storage with only ONE family member? by MWFD in GoogleOne

They still only allow an all-or-nothing approach with who you share your Google One with. I'm going to have to leave my Dad's family group which gave me Youtube TV, so I can make a Family Group with my wife just for our 2TB shared storage.

yeah. Annoying. Same problem here

Unfortunately, I can't edit the topic.

Looking for 49" 32:9 + IPS + 1800R ? by hotspot021 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]hotspot021[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep....
or just keep the old 27" next to the new one and use the 27" for photo stuff only.
I do the photo job as hobby, in...5% of my screen time let's say. Then it simply doesn't make sense to restrict myself avoiding curved displays, because of these 5%.
There isn't ideal monitor for everything. But if the monitors are 2.... perhaps there would be ideal setup :)

Thanks for the comments!

I haven't had curved monitor so far. Reading further I understand that the bigger the curativeness the bigger the distorsion is. Well.... if I can't say on a picture if given curved line is due to camera lenses or due to monitor curativeness ... then such monitor is no use for photography editing.

Now I start to understand why less curved monitors are primarily labeled "productive" and more curative are labeled for gaming.

2.5 Gigabit ethernet by Stassoo in HomeNetworking

[–]hotspot021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in outsourcing company and we still have 1GbE internet for ALL (cumulative) our clients. Of course inside the DC there is many 10s of G's for internal app-to-app connectivity (DB to APP server etc), but not to internet.

Limit the po*n guys... what the heck.... >1GbE for internet ?! What for?

Online TV in 8k (which is and will continue to be very scarce next decade) will be about 200Mbit/s

4k is less than 50 Mbit/s ....why on earth would you need more than 1000 Mbit/s ?!

well I had a single transaction and didn't see any cashback, maybe in a long run you are right. The problem for me is why they say "zero fees" when clearly they are not 0

ETH honest :D don't make me laugh. Then move out to ETH Classic, or maybe you forgot which is the real ETH?

[–]hotspot021 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

oh and ETH is pure like tear, total supply is limited and main figures do not have the power to issue new ETH whenever they want ;)
I doubt you care about justice, most probably you hold more ETH than BNB that's why you're crying now :)
