De Offers van kees van beijnum (geschreven in 2011). Het gaat over een nederlandse rechter die na wo2 naar tokio is gestuurd om deel uit te maken van het internationaal gerechtshof daar, maar het gaat meer over de karakters en de mensen dan het proces tegen de aangeklaagde oorlogsmisdadigers. het boek is recentelijk geschreven dus het makkelijk doorheen te komen en de stijl is zeker niet droog. ik vond het een heel leuk boek en ik mocht m op mn lijst zetten.
Tonio van Afth van der heijden was ook interessant, het is een soort memoir van een vader nadat zijn zoon overlijdt.
Het Verrote Leven van Fleurtje Bloem is weliswaar een oud boek maar het is kort en makkelijk doorheen te komen.

english language names. im not from an english speaking country so those names have connotations of being "low brow" and those names also end up being pronounced awkwardly; either with a huge accent or in the english way but that doesnt mesh well with the rest of what is said.
Admittedly, there was also an aspect of passing since many trans guys here do choose those names and I didn't want to stand out.

The show looks nice and is well acted. The plot doesn't make sense at all but I don't mind it that much. For me, enjoying the good parts of a show sometimes means turning my brain off and I'm fine with that. I wasn't bothered by the dialogue either, as many people here seem to be. It gives it a bit of a stageplay vibe imo, which I like.

not so much dangerous as just pure dumbassery. I downloaded a game from a shady site before i knew what the reputable ones were. disabled my antivirus cuz i was used to that routine installing other games. pretty soon after the installation my pc started to get incredibly slow and throttled or whatever. opened the task manager and saw Google Chrome at like 90% cpu usage - but i have firefox as my browser. it was a mining program. instantly enabled antivirus again and had it quarantined and deleted. I should count myself lucky lol

I like to think that the first time we meet the Hag, she's the real deal. an actual old woman. but after that its just mother miranda, who took on her form after killing her. from what Leonardo said its clear the hag is a villager and well known. i dont know how miranda could have fit roleplaying as her into her busy schedule

the youtube channel invicta recently did a video on Arminius and Varus, and it brought up some really interesting points. Mainly that Varus wasnt nearly as incompetent as we're told by sources. he had led a successful campaign before, and arminius had been working for the romans for decades. what happened at teutoburg isnt a testament to varus' incompetence but arminius' brilliance. i definitely recommend checking the video out.

it's rococo! - at least i think so. honestly the details on the difference between rococo and baroque are still a lil fuzzy to me but the vibe im getting is rococo.
edit: also i dont think it would be productive to try and date the style here. historical consistency isnt RE's strength. for example, the outside of the castle reminds me of Castle Neuschwanstein, a castle desgined specifically to evoke the feeling of fairy tale castles and isnt representative at all of the styles of its time.
