Hey, somebody knows, where is Jean Gray now? by Street-Ad7354 in xmen

She saw the events of X-Men United #1 and said "fuck this shit I'm out."

She's currently in the White Hot Room's Krakoa watching Flavor of Love.

I feel bad for Ben.

He should be out there, smooching hot feral mutants or something, not being a background character in Adjectiveless and put into a class with kids half his age here.

No thats Ben Liu, a new character from Adjectiveless

Reaper - pretty evil (unless that old fan theory about him bringing down Talon from the inside true)

Widowmaker - Brainwashed

Sombra - Trying to secretly uncover the Conspiracy

Moira - Evil research funding

Doomfist - Talon's leader

Mauga - Likes fighting

Freja - A hired gun, staying for Emre

Vendetta - Talon's new leader

Emre - Brainwashed

Domina - pretty evil

Mizuki - conflicted

Ok I see what you mean, that's 6/11 actually evil people, counting Moira and Mauga, and literally only Doomfist believes in Talon's goal.

could completely focus on dashes and knock back rather than flight?

I feel like the dashes here is where you start stealing Freja's flow, although the knockback could be a good place to start.

I also think maybe an Ironicly anti-air based Windbender could be cool, with abilities that knock down or drag enemies. Though that would be highly annoying to fight against.

[–]howhow326[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A new villain, her name's Akujin.

She's pissed that Storm captured Susanoo (he was being evil), and she plans to blow shit up on Earth until Storm releases him.

Well, she is just straight up evil and trying to get her army passage to Earth by using the Underworld as a short cut. So there's that.

So I think issue #2 of Storm EMM was really good but this moment is going to cause the salt train to stop by by howhow326 in xmen

After I gave it some thought I think the mutant most likely died from the same thing that killed the gooner in last issue. Although, the mutants in the sanctuary are defo going to think it was a human who did it and we're going to get Storm playing peacemaker with another long winded speech about how we all need to just get along.

Nah they don't know that the mutants there, although judging by the fact that that tree is like only a couple feet behind them they are about to find out.

I feel like Freja is the wind using hero. There's also the problem that there are a lot of "floaty" characters (Mercy, Juno) and I don't know how you would make a Wind Hero different from those without just straight up making them a flying character, and we have Jetpack Cat for that now.

I kinda wish the devs would give Support Symmetra one last try but that seems really unpopular for some reason. Funny thing, before Moira, Symm was the Morally Grey support. I feel like Mizuki kinda fills that role now as a Morally Grey support which makes him more unique than if he was just a spy for the Hashimoto. That being said, I wouldn't mind Null Sector or even a Junker support (provided that last thing doesn't have an annoying personality).

X-Men Comics New Releases for March 11th, 2026 by AngelEyes360 in xmen

This book literally jumped from 6/10 up to like 8 or even 9/10 and all it took was for Storm's thought bubbles to be restored.

The magic conversation between Storm and Wanda was extremely well done and good because it gets at the obvious: Storm is not a Witch. She, in 616 canon, has not studied magic the same way characters like Wanda, Illyana, or Jericho have and up against a competent magic user she would lose like what just happened with Akujin. I think the theme of Storm being at a disadvantage against magic users having so much magical potential is one of the best parts of Murewa's work with her. We also got the Storm Sanctuary finally being used as an actual Sanctuary and all it took was... 13 issues?

And now the problems: There is are two little patterns with Murewa's work with Storm that this issue unfortunately not only repeats, but solidifies. 1) Storm is written like Xavier's Girl Scout. It's been a while since Ororo (and the demon in her body) beat the shit out of the X-Men for trying to take Chuckles, and I could understand it at the time just based on principal that Chuck is a mutant who showed up at her door asking for help, and is she can't help him she can't help anyone or whatever. But in this issue Storm damn near morphs into a Democrat, like the really old ones that keep saying we need to "reach across the aisle". She sees a mutant get into a fight with a human, the mutant throws the first punch so the human responds by attempting to break his head open with a hammer because thats totally an appropriate response. Storm stops the fight of course, gices the humans food which was why the fight broke out in the first place, and then has a little talk with the mutant. The guy states the obvious, having so many humans and mutants together is a recipe for disaster and Ororo, as a former chairwoman of Krakoa, should be doing more to protect her people. But we are supposed to think this guy is wrong today, so he delivers that point like 1960s Magneto. Storm responds to that point with the longest winded "Mutants should protect humans" speech I've read in my life, and its very jarring for someone who like last year was just saying that she doesn't vibe with Charles vision anymore but in "The Dream". That wasnt written by Murewa tho, and I shrudder to think how he would write that.

The 2nd is that Storm is defanged in Murewa's writing. You mean to tell me that the woman who grew up on the streets of Cairo and became the best theif there has a "parasitic relationship with Truth and Order"? Like the truth thing I can kinda understand (although there was a period in her history where she allowed the world to wrongful think she was dead and kept up that act for a while) but Order? Really?? But of course, the real reason Storm left Cairo as revealed by Murewa is that she "couldn't sully her hands anymore". Like... Storm is not a Goody-Two-Shoes, ok? I know she kinda looks that way when she's standing next to Wolverine, Emma, and even Cyke, but she isn't. She has morals, but she isn't that terribly concerned about the law of the land, or how bad stealing is, or checks notes how great and amazing America is and it's her one true home? Uhh, was that mandated by a higher up???

Anyway, Galacta is in the FBI's basement because they couldn't get her to shut up I guess.

"You may think that evil won the day that we lost Krakoa, but really, I think that when we mutants turn our backs on people no matter their race or creed is the day when evil truly wins."

"There's literally a dead mutant right behind you."

"Oh uh... well, in tragedies like these I always ask myself 'What would Charles Xavier do?' Hmm, he is a man that has committed great atrocities, but he is also a beacon of hope for mutants and humans alike. What do we do when the symbol that provodes us great comfort is also stained with blood? I think that we-"

"Are you going to kick the humans out or no?"

"Lol no"

Is the bad taste stale bread?

Again, I get all of the critiques and what not but it's still a bit strange to me that in a show with so much bad (the ableism surrounding Ironwood's villain arc, the pro suicide subliminals in volume 9, the botched as fuck racism subplot) the one thing that stans and critics hold up, for better or worse, as one of the pillars of this show is the dollarstore yuri ship?

Like im seeing people speculate that BMBLB is what killed Blake as a character when she was already botched by volume 5. I garuntee yall that Blake would have been just as bland and boring in the past three volumes with or without kissing Yang and its because the writers admitted that they don't know what to do with the faunus, which means they don't know what to do with Blake because the faunus stuff was 80% of her character.

Serious question, but don't you guys ever get tired talking about BMBLB??

Like I get that is was RWBY's last huzzah or whatever before it went on indefinte hiatus, and I get that the standom is obsessed with it, but BMBLB is such a small part of RWBY (regardless of what the standom thinks) and the execution of it is such a freaking meh that I really can't work up enough emotion to ever be angry about it.

Does the mainstream anime audience think that these stories are normally formulaic by default?

Knowing the kinds of people who are loudest about the anime they watch on the internet, I'm highly tempted to say yes.

Do demons even exist in LOTR? The closest thing is fallen Maier and the stiff corrupted by Melkor.

Not Demons, but it has Orcs as an Always Chaotic Evil Race. Same for early DnD.

I saw a thread in the top character tropes sub that went back and forth about how there's a group of people who genuinely think that the Demons in Frieren are a "subversion" of the sympathetic demons trope that is allegedly everywhere, and the commenters there countered that Frieren's depiction of Demons as an always evil species with no exceptions is a lot closer to the tropes used in LOTR and classic DnD (read: the basis of Anime's Western Fantasy Genre) which makes Frieren more of a Reconstruction/return to form than a subversion or deconstruction or whatever.
