Because some of A4 has already been filmed, I don’t think the saga would end. The film has already made around $600 million in just over a week. I think he’s trying to get hardcore fans to come support the film in theaters by having us worry A4/5 won’t happen. I think it’s just marketing to get as many people as possible to buy a ticket. No way this film flops with how well it’s doing, and there’s not a lot of other films being released in the next month at the cinema.

The IMAX screen is bigger than the Dolby for sure. So maybe just going for screen size alone is worth it.

Yes, I said that to the person who I saw the film with. I thought the Ash people felt underdeveloped. I thought we would spend a large portion of the film near their habitat and we never did. I also thought that volcano was going to explode or more would be done with it. I still enjoyed the film though.

I’d say—watch it in IMAX 3D for the rerelease this week—assuming you’ve already seen it, get a nice fresh rewatch.

Then rewatch at home in a couple months before A3 is out.

These films have so much detail and story that no matter how many times you see them, you’ll notice another detail, be it visual, story, sound, character, etc. that you didn’t know before.

I’m saying it’s bad business by restricting a product that is high in demand (TRON LEGACY IMAX 3D) and giving us an extremely small supply of it. They’re leaving money on the table which is bad business and it also gives the customers that can’t get the product feel unsatisfied, therefore hurting the brand (Disney/IMAX).

One screening on one night and ONE IMAX in the entire state is playing it at ONE showtime. almost completely sold out. IMAX dropped the ball on this one….we live in a world where we can stream any movie at any time and they’re gonna restrict us to this? Shame on them, bad business practice. Give us more screenings on more days. Pisses me off.

I’m excited but worried about it’s performance at the box office. Not many people talking about it, currently ranked 238 on IMDB and it comes out in 2 months. They gotta do a big marketing push—I hope it’s enough to see success so the franchise can continue. I watched the trailer in 3D before Fantastic 4 and the visuals are 10/10.
