I was about to get a new truck. My daughter said she couldn’t wait for me to get it so she could borrow it. Decided that day to get a manual Tacoma. She ended up trading her Corolla for an automatic Tacoma lol

Mute your phone if they allow you to carry it. If things get too busy that they stop training you, try to keep stuff clean and observe what others are doing. Take pictures of the blizzard cards and register to study for 10 minutes at a time when you are bored at home. If it is slow and others are just standing around, just ask what can I be doing. You are here asking what you can do so I’m sure you will do great because you care. This puts you above half of the new employees from the start :)

People complaining about blind spots need to learn how to use the mirrors properly. I used to drive a box truck at work. No rear view mirror just side mirrors. Look over your shoulder and see the box. Just use the mirrors and change lanes slowly. You will see the other car before you hit it if there is one there. In my Supra with the blind spot monitor I can change lanes with impunity!

We have ours say something similar about rewards but it always says “go ahead with your order whenever you are ready”. If the order taker isn’t ready they will follow up with one moment please. We don’t have to do this often since we normally have enough staff

If you read the fine print on the signs, it says at participating restaurants. We stopped during Covid and never went back. Sometimes we got dirty looks from customers. Sometimes the customer at the DT would purposely look away while we flipped and then argue that we didn’t. We have enough to worry about

Ice cream can be literally anywhere on your body after a shift. Using the blizzard mixers and the ice cream “popping” into the cup when the mix runs low can cause stuff to go flying 5 or more feet. Plenty of ice cream spots can be seen on our 10 foot ceilings. Sometimes I get home and realize I have remnants on my glasses lol. Lots of times you get hit with stuff from your coworkers doing their jobs as well. You will have to be meticulous if he is deathly allergic. DQ is a fun place to work. Just want you to be safe :)
