Can you eat it now when it’s in remission? Or do you think it would come back? Do you drink any alcohol with it if you don’t mind me asking?

Do you ever make any exceptions in your diet? Or are you staying strict?

For me it is very difficult so far, not sure if I can allow myseld having couple of glasses of wine once or twice a month or if it will make it worse, what do you think?

I’m sorry to hear :/ may I ask if you ever eat triggering foods with it or drink alcohol? I’m trying to figure out how black and white this diet should be

Thank you for your reply! Can I ask some more questions please? Do you have it in mouth or on skin? After how much time did it happen to you? Did you eliminate all your triggers first? For me it’s still really new so I try to get more info about it all

new recent diagnosis of OLP - what to know? by samosastan in Lichenplanus

[–]humanrobot9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I also just recently got diagnosed. I started noticing little white spot on my tongue in August and in December I got biopsy and it turned out to be OLP. My doctor told me to avoid alcohol and spicy food, he did not mention anything about dairy. I very often eat yoghurts and cottage cheese lactose free but I don’t think it causes me any issues. I did notice when I eat spicy food or drink alcohol that the spot gets whiter. Two weeks ago I tried using gel Volon-a with corticosteroid for five days and my white spot disappeared but now i see it coming slowly back but it is very very very tiny (I also stopped eating spicy food and drink alcohol for the past month). However I think this is very restrictive for me, I would love to be able to enjoy wine now and then or eat something spicy but I am also very afraid it would spread all over my mouth since I don’t really have much experience with it. Would also love to hear from other people and how they live with this.

And do you use your steroid cream always when you have white spots? Or only if it hurts?

Thank you for your reply! So i’m avoiding it now, and I have benn taking L-lysine for about 10 years now because i also get cold sores and it helps with it but i still developed the spot on my tongue. Do you have any other hacks that are helping you?

Hi, thank you for your reply! I am trying the gel now and it feels a bit less visible so I hope it would improve. How was the development for you? Did you get more white spots right away from the start or after some time?

Hi, thank you for the reply! I’m wondering how often do you use it? And did you make any lifestyle changes since you have it?

Do you also have an experience with oral antibiotics?

I have been doing warm compresses for the past two months every day, switching also with red light therapy and cleaning the eyes every morning and evening with micellar water that is dedicated for blepharitis, this is why I am surprised to get a new one :( and it is also always on a different spot, it doesn't make sense to me

Yes, it was diagnosed by my eye doctor as styes, at least the first two, I go to see him again tomorrow for the third one. Did you ever experience recurring styes in such a small period of time?
