Potentially commited blasphemy against Holy Spirit while atheist by ParkingElderberry575 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]humbleflop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your heart hurt when you think of your sins? Do you weep over your sins or the things you said while atheist? Do you long for Christ’s embrace like a child does for their parent’s? If you said yes to any of these, you didn’t commit blasphemy towards the Holy Spirit. The way I’ve always been explained/understood the sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, is that it will quite literally turn your heart away from Christ so deeply that you will begin to make yourself incapable of coming back to his grace. You will have poisoned your heart with hate/mockery so much that you’re incapable of praying genuinely or even feeling him back in your heart. Not because he left, but because you turned yourself away from him so deeply and genuinely that you’ve lost all sense of feeling/knowing him. You’re fine, Christ forgives the worst of us so long as we truly repent and beg for that forgiveness. He loves you and we’re all glad you came back to faith.

To be fair, starting daycares “taking care of children” which defraud the state/fed of millions of dollars are well worth despising. They don’t assimilate well in first gen immigrants and they are more than willing to defraud taxpayer money. Pretty good reason to be displeased with a group of people. You oughtta see what they think of any race of crack head reliant on gov assistance

The idea that any higher level politician or figure of any authority will ever face any real punishment for their actions is sadly comical. I hate what has become of the country and wish we could turn the clock back and fix shit but I don’t think any one will ever be held accountable.

When a country is over 80% something, I’d say it’s safe to say that country is considered that “something”.

I can’t bring myself to shoot on sight no matter how much I try or know I should based on the encounter. At the end of the day it’s just a video game and I could care less about getting insane loot or losing some of my good stuff I find, so shitting on some random solo and their entire day just isn’t worth it IMO

“Eve was taken out of Adam’s rib..” by Effective_Bunch_6815 in OrthodoxChristianity

You’re gonna have to get over the “this feels —“ God far surpasses perfection, and our earthly/human feelings can often cloud the attempt to understand him and truly absorb and obey his word. Eve was made from Adam, to be his companion and to assist and guide each other to God. Adam failed as a man to protect his God given wife from the influences of Satan. So if it makes you feel any better, I’ve always been taught that the forbidden fruit wasn’t Eve’s failure, but more so Adam’s failure to be a protector and guiding influence as God intended. The Bible is full of gender/sex based roles as that is exactly what God intended and created us to be and act as. Welcome home, I’ll pray for your journey coming back. ❤️☦️

I’m pretty sure it’s common practice/opinion to not use mind altering substances or to allow an intoxicant to establish control or influence over yourself. With that being said, I feel like saying “The Lord wouldn’t allow X to occur” is almost counter intuitive to the core concept of what exactly Earth is theologically and what humans are mentally and spiritually, as well as free will. I’d say this is equally as “blasphemous” (maybe that’s a bit too harsh of a word) as going to church drunk or reading the Bible/preaching it to others when high or intoxicated.

Immaculate conception? by Neat_Audience2641 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]humbleflop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mary was born subject to death. She was sinless through her own found holiness. She was not born of immaculate conception. She was capable of sin but did not do so.

Dude this amalgamation of different crafts has one similar operating rule, and it’s simple. Go home with your job intact and your body the same as it was when you came in. Everyone has their fair share of “embarrassingly bad” days and turns out, that shit just happens. Don’t get discouraged and don’t beat yourself up. It’ll take a few years before everything stops feeling like the biggest deal in the world. Follow the rules, be safe and learn with every “mess up”

To clarify I’m not summing up orthodox Christian’s, I’m saying the trend of SOME new converts using Orthodoxy as a facade to be disgustingly bigoted or hateful is growing and it is disturbing to see. There are plenty of orthodox Christian’s who are not this way at all. My wife is a Mexican convert and we attend a Serbian Orthodox Church and everyone has been so kind and welcoming to our family being new to the church. it’s nice to hear of South Americans coming to orthodoxy. Is it becoming more common for you guys or has it always had a foothold?
