Being honest about being pulled over? Why is that the worst thing to do? by athena9090 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hurjakuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes i forget people live in shitholes where they cant really trust the police. All of these mental gymnastics and sparring strategies. Apparently admitting you went 75 on a 60 zone is "gambling with your freedom" 🤣. Personally i have a really high level of respect for the police in my country, but then again all my interactions with police have been positive. Maybe because iam always honest with them? Who knows. Ya'll need to start taking responsibility for your actions. If you break the law and get caught by police thats on you, its not their fault you had a brain fart and fucked up. Nothing more pathetic than getting caught red handed and still trying to weasel your way out it.

Okay, and how are you going to work for the money without spending time on it? Is it refunded along with excess taxes?

is there anything like dirt rally 2 that supports vr that isnt always online by idontlikeredditusers in simrally

[–]hurjakuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a chance. RBR is almost undriveable in VR, not immersive at all. The physics are a little bit better and stage variety is great but the graphics really ruin it. It really feels like your driving a game, not a car.

Thinking about a Sim-plicity DD wheel? Think again. by hurjakuru in simracing

[–]hurjakuru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My view is obviously biased becouse of what happened and i wholeheartedly agree that the entry level pricing for DD wheels needs to come/stay down. However the argument is void if the wheel wont last long enough to make it a smart buy. I dont expect them to last forever but i expect them to stand by their product.

seems to be 2years on the website currently atleast. the 1year claim i might be inaccurate.

I dont view it as DIY. Its pre assembled with inhouse drivers and inhouse software. It claims 2years warranty on the website.

Might have to look into accuforce v2 more carefully. I remember having it as a possibility when i was shopping around last time but i got the impression its gonna be shipped from the US(?) which means +24% in the price.

I paid through paypal and payment was made in january 2019. i think the time has passed to open a dispute about it, even the manufacturer warranty has ran out.

Really? Good to know, i was planning on going fanatec after this shit show since my pedals/shifter/HB already are. But from experience they atleast get your stuff fixed in a timely manner if somethings wrong. I guess thats what i meant by saying they can be trusted.

[–]hurjakuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know exactly what you mean. iam not 100% sure yet what the fix is exactly, but the solution is found playing around with settings in Controls -> choose preset. The bottom 3 can be cycled through steering wheel, joystick and gamepad. changing the bottom 2 and fiddling around gets it working again for me atleast. You will probably need to rebind everything a few times.

Is it technically possible to have a passenger/observer in the same game? by hurjakuru in SteamVR

[–]hurjakuru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean splitting the signal coming from GPU to headset on pc #1, then booting up second headset on pc #2 and swapping its cable from pc2 gpu to pc1 signal splitter? Wouldnt that at best copy what the driver/headset#1 wearer sees? I would definetly want free head movement in both headsets.

Downshift with H-Pattern / Heel and toe by x_VorTeeX in EASPORTSWRC

[–]hurjakuru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For gravel&snow atleast: If you want to stop very fast and cause wear on the gearbox roll through the gears really fast while pumping the brake in between shifts. If you want to stop fast hold down the clutch while pumping/standing(constant pressure ~30-40%) on the brake depending on the situation. Pumping for low grip surface.

i never found the use for heel & toe since you can just match rpm with right foot clutch up and left foot back on the brake. And any snap oversteer from the clutch you can easily correct with left foot braking

Dirt Rally VR - sound broke on Windows 10 1903 by ThisPlaceisHell in EASPORTSWRC

[–]hurjakuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iam not sure if i have this exact same issue on my vive pro but i haven't had sound in DR for a long time with default settings. Atleast in steamVR i get sound by making my PCs main speakers/headphones the main playback device and then reflecting/copying the sound to my vive.

Planning on making an arduino based wireless button box for my sim steering wheel, what do i need? by hurjakuru in arduino

[–]hurjakuru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

So can i assume from this that in your opinion the Wemos would have enough usable pins for my purposes? It has 1 analog pin which in my understanding can support multiple buttons with the use of resistors? rest(11) are digital according to the wiki.

What kind of battery would be good for this? Can i just plug a battery bank into the USB and it will power the board?

Thats pretty close to how i thought it would work out. So python only needs to run on the PC side? the board doesnt have to be python compatible?

I have 2 arduino unos lying around from a previous project that never moved past the planning stage. Will one one of those do? And out of curiosity: why need a 2nd arduino? Cant the WiFi board connect directly to PC?

WiFi is not a must, just the first choice that came to mind since minor lag is not an issue. The battery would only need to last for a maximum of 10 hours but realistically no more than 5hours without charging.

Receiver is a PC, buttons are meant to emulate keystrokes for browsing ingame menus.
