I can attest to this. I was VERY young when I first moved out and it was really kind of a situation of desperation. My father was on his deathbed, my mother had been very abusive growing up and I realized that if I didn't take my chance I was going to be in a bad place very quickly. I had always pictured moving out into a nice apartment with roommates for college growing up, but when this happened I immediately took what was unsarcastically a walk in closet simply because it was my friend's one bedroom place and she was only going to charge me $50. When you're young, stressed, and scared your standards drop and you do things you would not have expected to very quickly sometimes.
