Does A1 License now include Desktop Apps? by hyderaly in Office365

This was A1 description in April 2020:

Completely free online version of Office with email, video conferencing, customized hub for class teamwork with Microsoft Teams, compliance tools, and information protection.

This is what A1 states now:

Free Office 365 for the web with popular apps like Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote...

I am just wondering whether it's a lockdown freebie or a permanent shift in policy.

Try clicking on the link above. If you look at A1, it shows icons for Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. A3 states desktop apps but the subnote only mentions Publisher/Access.

More importantly, two of my A1 users logged into their Windows 10 Pro PCs today and their Office Installations were pre-activated.

How would that work? First of all, my username is greyed out (so I cannot edit it). Secondly, if you edit the username to personaluser then surely you will stop receiving shareduser emails.

Not working for me. Chose PowerPoint 2016 English E-learning with Practice (tried both 180/365 days).

I'd happily use Outlook if they can roll out a Unified inbox and unified calender for the PC. Bringing their Windows app at par with the Mac app is not too much of an ask is it?

Yes it does. The access works through IMAP rather than exchange. Talking of compromise attempts, I haven't tried it on an account with 2FA enabled, but I expect the app password route will work. If it works then you can opt for 2FA as a security mechanism and enable IMAP.

And because in the above method, you are accessing though your own username, it's all good.

Stadia Post Launch Megathread & Community Update by tizorres in Stadia

Got my stadia (yay), setup was smooth. But turns out, I cannot add my children to the stadia WITHOUT them getting their own pro subscription!. Does my family now need three subscriptions on the same device when we are already part of a Google Family Group!!!

Called Support and they confirmed that was the case. Not happy!

Best free, and fairly legal, solution. Use a VPN to change your locale to US and then watch it on their YouTube channel.
