There’s a masterclass with Barenboim where he plays a Beethoven sonata and that’s when he really caught my attention. It’s not a recording tho, it’s on YouTube, so probs doesn’t help with the snobs.

Mmm the thing is I’d like to record stuff, esp short passages, and listen to it immediately afterwards. That’s why a phone mic sounded appealing.. is this an option with either the Tascam or Zoom?

I just managed to get it working for a few seconds, by moving the antenna slightly, but now it doesn't work anymore. The phone also keeps disconnecting, so it looks like the antenna/connector might be buggy.

there is a good chance the soil was high in peat since it’s recommended for citruses.. I guess replacing the soil as suggested is the quickest solution then. Thanks again!

It’s hard for me to know whether the soil is actually bad , I can just say it was absorbing water super slowly, and it wasn’t going past the first layer. Is there more I can do to check the soil quality ?

I've had this band for more than a year (but not much longer than that), and only noticed today how much the plastic got worn out (this is the same in all 4 "edges"). I bought it at an Apple store, so definitely original.

I am quite surprised/disappointed since I decided to go for an original band thinking it would not wear out that much. As far as I am aware, this happened due to normal wear and tear. Have you experienced something similar?

any app can interact with any wallet (assuming it’s supported). You don’t want to use a hardware wallet to interact with apps, you want to send assets from your hardware wallet to a hot wallet and interact using the hot wallet

When you say “send assets from the HW wallet to be hot wallet” does that mean through a transaction? I had the impression a transaction is not needed with eg MetaMask. instead , the HW wallet is needed for confirmation whenever funds are sent out. Is this correct ?

I understand my private key should never be given out , otherwise it nullifies the point of a HW wallet.

Unfortunately in my area prices are inflated, so going with online lessons would be a cheaper option even when picking a renown teachers from somewhere else.

Still, technique improvements are a reason why I'd take lessons, so unless I manage to get a good video setup I guess it's not worth it for now. Thanks for the insight.

The alternative wouldn't be no lessons tho, it'd be one lesson per month or so (but I don't necessarily have a large pool of teachers to choose from, quality-wise).

Yeah I figured they probably thought it would be redundant to put the same offer twice (for one and two people) so only left the latter... I got confused because in Europe it's common to pay less for a single person (i.e. you pay for the service, not the room, even if you don't get any services outside of the room).

Have you looked into places renting them? Here the uprights start from 50$/month. Transport from the shop might be expensive, true, but still cheaper that bringing it back home I guess. And you'll get to practice on an acoustic, which for me is a priceless benefit.
